When your colleague calls back, how do I know the "colleague" is authentic?

All calls from my mobile will display my number as registered in your bank's database, but yet I'm still asked to authenticate every single time.

Hi vince123123,

If you are unsure, you could drop us a PM. We could arrange for our service executive to call at a specific timing, and provide you with the name of our colleague who will be calling as well.

Should our customers not be comfortable speaking on the phone, they could also drop us a secured message via our Internet Banking platform.

Hello OCBC,

Can you help me please? I tried calling the customer service centre and they say they are unable to release any information to me nor help me much with this problem.

I made 1 bill payment in Nov 2016 and 1 bill payment in Jan 2017 mistakenly to M1 bill account number (I key in the wrong M1 account that has been cancelled 1 year ago).

I realise my mistake and called OCBC and they verified that the 2 payments has been deducted successfully. I called M1 and they said they never received the payment to the M1 terminated account and ask me to show proof of payment.

I screen shot the sms notification but it did not state the full wrong M1 account number. The sms reads like this:

'We have withdrawn SGD53.80 from **Account***-*****2-001 to pay a bill for M1 Limited with reference no. *****7867'.

As the full reference number was not reflected, M1 rejected saying it is not full reference number and they cannot accept it.

Next, I log into my online account to print my e-statement transaction history. Unfortunately, in the e-statement transaction statement, it says Bill Payment - INB M1 - $53.80. It did not state the reference number and I am unable to proof to M1 that I had paid to the wrong M1 terminated account.

Please help me with this as I have been calling many times to OCBC and M1 and no solutions to this. Worst of all, I received a late reminder of payment from m1 threaten to cancel my phone line which is my 'blood line' for my job due to this reason.

Thank you.

Hi,

Please drop us a PM with your contact details. We will check on this, and will get back to you at the soonest.

Transferred shares out from BCIP to my CDP account and closed all my OCBC accounts. Turns out I may have a dividend payment from SingTel that was due in just after I closed my accounts (can't remember the exact date of crediting and the exact day I closed my accounts). How do I check if I've been paid? And if I haven't, how will OCBC credit the dividend?

Hi opt1m4l,

You will have to check with CDP or the individual financial institutions that you had purchased the shares from.

The Central Depository (Pte) Limited (CDP) -
Hotline: 6535 7511 from 8.30am – 5pm (Mondays to Fridays) and 9am – 12.30pm (Saturdays) (excluding public holidays).

I purchased them with OCBC's BCIP (who holds the shares as a custodian), and that's why I'm directing this question to you guys.

Either one is fine.

The replacement card will be sent out one month in advance, which mean for you will be next month. :)

Hi opt1m4l,

If you have closed your OCBC accounts and transferred out the shares, you would have to check with CDP/FIs directly on your query.

I am disappointed with how ocbc treats the late charges like free flow. My dad, being a senior citizen himself, doesn't even spend so much but has been billed $250+ on late charges. He's not good with technology in using ibanking and the person who recommended my dad to sign up should recommend my dad to opt for non e-statement. He did not pay the bills for a couple of months until one day a CSO called him about paying those exorbitant late charges.

This is ridiculous, I had to pay off all based on the FiNAL bill and cancelled the card. Even after paying off all, my dad still continue to pay another late charge of $80+.

This is truly disappointing

Hi meatballs,

Late and interest charges will be levied when payment is not received by the payment due date.

We are sorry to learn that your waiver request was unsuccessful, and we apologise for not being able to accede to your request.

We have seen your post in the other thread as well on our hotline. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the voice recognition system, and for the long wait time.

If you have not managed to speak to our service executive, do drop us a PM with your contact details, and we will arrange for a call to you.

I understand your feeling, the system will impose late charge even you were late by 1 day.

IIRC, the e-statement is auto implemented by the bank even you did not opt for it.

If this is the first time for the calendar year, you might have a chance to request for a waiver.

But if not, just too bad, happened to me, no waiver because 2nd offender.

Suck thumb and carry on.

OCBC is NOT A CHARITY

Not happy, switch bank, they don't need our deposits
