Just received my U7G 75" yesterday. Overall it's working nicely, but Im still trying to sort out the picture setting for different video contents. (If there's any TV calibration expert here do advise how to optimize the picture setting)

Vidaa OS actually looks decent, but too many rubbish apps that can't be deleted lol. I just plugged up my Nvidia Shield.

My previous TV was Xiaomi TV 4S so this is a big upgrade. The peak brightness is much higher so HDR is finally working as intended. The 75" model uses an IPS panel, so black level may not be as good as the 55" and 65" models using VA panel.

No comparison to OLED or mini-LED, but as far as budget TV goes, good price for its performance.

IMO if you are considering LG C1, that means you should have the budget for it. And if you have the budget for it, then by all means go for it. Hisense oled models are a total unknown quantity. For the money you are paying, best to stay with the tried and tested. Also apparently major electronic stores out there are starting to clear C1 to make way for C2. So you can try your luck and ask for better pricing for the C1.

Thanks for the feedback. I do have the budget for it but I'm quite open to trying out as well. After all anything after my 10 years old 43" HD TV should be better already. Also I'm not sure I need all the bells and whistles of C1 (or C2 later) and looking for cheaper alternative.

So quite curious for you HiSense-rs who own HiSense TVs, have considered C1 before and very happy with your HiSense.

I got it for $1752 during lazada Birthday Sale last month, after stacking all the Lazada Bonus and vouchers. If u can wait, wait for those sales with Lazada Bonus event ( $X off $XX) , have to keep collecting the bonus daily for 1 week+ before the sale event date.

Actually the other thing I was considering was that I'm planning to replace 2 TVs that I have (both were purchased 10 years ago). So I thought if I don't go with C1, with the budget i can get 2 TVs instead.

I think depends on your use case also. C1 seems like a good for everything TV, so you would sacrifice something if you choose to go cheaper. Like if use U7G to compare, main drawback would be the narrow viewing angle and poorer contrast compared to oled, poorer motion processing, can't support 4k 120hz gaming. For me I just want to try out hdr content without committing too much money, and I think it worked pretty well so far... except for motion in some scenes, especially when there is violent movement of a face at closeup.

I bought a A7G Elite on 12th and delivery guy came to install on noon while i was working. Then at night when i reach home, i spotted some smudges and i proceed to clean it with micro fiber cloth and magic-clean glass solution. Now it becoming more worst, anyone know how to clean this?

Hopefully there is a protective film and you didn't damage the coating on the glass, otherwise that's not good.
Only clean with water as a rule.

But it only appear when i flash torchlight. And daylight doesnt see anything..

u should only use the solution meant for cleaning monitor screens....not any detergents

The Hisense Singapore Shopee Rep has just informed that the U8H SG variant uses IPS panels in all available sizes and that the contrast ratio is 1400:1 (much lower than the U7G's VA Panel 4000:1) hence the U8H will have weaker black levels, higher probability of issues like light haloing/blooming and lower color volume as we've seen in past tests by HDTVTest on TVs with the same IPS + MiniLED/Full Array setup.

At (18:47) Vincent from HDTVTest explains this setback through his tests on multiple TVs:


For some reasons they have chosen not to indicate the contrast ratio on the U8H's spec sheet unlike the other models and previous 2021 series.
