Now seems sq and cx promo fare to hk offer flights like 7am or afternoon. No more flights between 9-11am anymore. :(

Means going to airport middle of the night or losing a few hours of the day.

Been checking jetstar and tiger, fares cost more than full fare promo. :(

That's true but need to leave home for airport at 4 something. But can be quite tiring during the day because not enough sleep. Pro and cons.

Thanks for the info. I shall pay that $79 to choose seats for peace of mind.

I like the idea that my light weight stroller will not be considered as part of any baggage allowance.

Does anyone have any idea what's inside the kid meal? I am not sure what jetstar meant by "snack"; can't googled any info.

For budget airlines don't think there's free for all seating any more. Seats are assigned on booking. If want preferred seats have to pay.

Took the 2am flight on Scoot to hk in Jan and the flight was full!

Note that the closer to travel dates there booking the more expensive the fares. Also there's minimum period before travel when there's promo isn't applicable.

As for asking passengers to change, won't be easy as they could have paid for the seating. Unless you can offer equivalent seat or better...

Jetstar last time when u do web check in, you can choose seats
notice this year onwards, your seat would be auto assigned even if u web check in ...

for budget airline, sometimes there is also last min promo ..
less than a month also can , perhaps is offpeak ...

Hope there will be promo.

Now basic fare per pax without all those add on about 300 each

But in the same booking, they will put you guys together.
I have not encountered split seating so far.
Only when i have two bookings, they will separate it and then when request, they will tell you it's all pre-assigned.
Singapore counters will help you adjust if you are early in the queue.
Overseas, so far no luck.

If CX flights for sbout $400 net per pax, will it be a good deal?

May have found a lobang in some Chinatown travel agencies to offer such price.

Promo price for sq and cx can get $270-290 depending on travel period. I've been checking for January travel.

You have to check if minimum advance booking period is met for your travel period. If you don't book within that period prices go up progressively to even twice the promo fare!

Good luck!

Stroller is FOC, best is bring to boarding gate as normally check in at counter, the chances of stroller damage is quite high. Also please remember to get the baggage tag for your stroller and ensure the staff tag it. As for Kid meal, If not wrong is really some snacks for the child.
