Lazy to read everything. My personal experience.

BKK to HH is fast, convenient and cheap by bus. Bus is clean and normally not much ppl (went twice).

HH is not really big and they have different coloured tuk tuk to take you everywhere.

Comparing Hyatt Regency & Marriott Hua Hin, which is a better choice?

didn't stay in either of those. stayed in So sofitel and Intercon before. If i'm not not marriott is close to intercon at the sea area.

It depends on which airport you arrive. There is actually a few bus terminal around. But if you don't mind you can go online and get the contact for the minivan company and arrange the timing to pick you up at the airport. Est I think wont cost too much also. As I always do that when I reach DMK, will arrange for driver to pick me up at Rangsit and head over to other provinces.

If you guys arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport, can head down to level 1 to take a coach to HH... can buy from the counter there or book online too... they depart hourly through out the day...

Is it becos take the cheaper mini vans in the city is a hassle with luggages?

Its not a hassle le. No matter how much luggage they have they will have their ways to squeeze into the van. Plus minivan is always faster than coach.
Thats why i always take minivan instead of coach. Unless its super long distance then i will take coach at least can rest better
