I read in this forum that someone can notice the difference. I took a quick look recently but can't tell the difference. Wanted to do a comparison but some kid was hogging the Note 8 playing games.
Price difference is about $100 (blue M10P) to $120 between Note 8 and M10P at Red White Mobile.
Does M10P support wireless payment? I.e. Android Pay. GSMarena stated it has NFC but there's not much mention about wireless payment.
It takes very close observation or trained eyes to notice the difference. To be honest, unless the resolution is really low, it is unlikely for you notice in your day to day usage. The higher resolution helps with those virtual headsets since it magnifies the screen and therefore, you will notice the difference. Also as I have mentioned, Samsung defaults their screen to FHD+ to conserve battery, so if you leave it at default, there will not be any dif.
As for the price difference, did you find the prices online, i.e. Qoo10? If so, do note that the price of Note 8 are discounted. For example, MGMobile is selling it for 1139 now vs a Mate 10 Pro at 1099. The difference if you get a 100 bucks discount on Mate 10 Pro is close to what you mentioned around 140 in this case.
Wireless payment should be fine with Android Pay is what I understood. If that feature is missing, I am sure all the reviews will mention it since it is a glaring omission for a flagship phone, just like the wireless charging.
