I was quite sold on the Mate 10 Pro but the dimming issue and looking low res kinda killed it. Price wise I saw Qoo10 is about $1,088 but Note 8 seems to have dropped price too, under $1,200. Not sure if I should still get Mate 10 Pro especially now that I am not likely to get the freebies at Nex.

Just clean my m10pro from water tap. Then after around 10 minutes, i charge it. I noticed the status turned from "charging" to "fast charging". Then i unplug it and reconnect again, this time shown "super charging". I unplug and reconnect for few times, but "super charging" appears randomly. Anyone noticed the same?

think i got a defective phone zzz

for the past 4 days since purchase, my phone keeps getting intermittent wifi connection. put my previous phone side by side and everything can load perfectly fine.

no time to head down to service ctr as exams are approaching.
will go down once my exams end

anyone know how to hide off the preview message from whatsapp? i tried doing hide content, it hides the whole thing including the sender's name. I wanted it to be like on ios where u can still know who sent you a msg.

So far so good. The huawei experience has been great out of the box.

What is MTP option. Only show allow access or charging only. 2 option.

After u connect phone to computer via USB, click MTP option on the phone (drop down menu option), the phone will show up on ur PC as storage. Just go to the folders and copy the files your computer. Simple don't need to use hisuite

I am not sure if you really observed lower resolution or just read about the lower resolution here. I will be surprised if you could discern the difference. Anyway, the likes of Samsung S8 and Note 8 reduces the resolution out of the box to FHD+, unless you go to settings to switch it to QHD to conserve battery. I feel it may be worthwhile to go for a slightly lower resolution in exchange for battery life.

Do note the Note 8 is discounted, so you can't apply further discount coupons. While Mate 8 is still at RRP, so if they have good discounts in the coming weeks, you may get it below 1k.
