+1. Real funny they don't push 8.1/9.0 but pushes the patch for PUBG LOL

I believe it will not be released before Mate 20. Huawei wants to keep it for their latest phone. Otherwise people don't see the point in upgrading.. Business as usual. Lol.

Just saying :D :D. But 8.1 should be here d eh... Honor updates all the devices much faster than Huawei itself. Doesn't make sense right...

I looking forward for the camera UI in 8.1 as the old one a bit hard to use one handed.

Probably Huawei is trying to push consumers to buy P20/Pro. Poor Mate 10 users are still stuck on EMUI 8.0. I rather Huawei spend their resources to push EMUI 9.0 to Mate 10 earlier.. I hope we can get it before Christmas.

Agree :) My wife is using the p20 pro, and I feel the camera UI is much better. You can also kill the AI almost on the spot if you do not like the colors that Huawei assigns. Hopefully we get at least 8.1, if not 9 soon.

Is true. SingTel even take off mate 10 pro from their contract phone list.
Guess it will be very competitive to mate 20 (no pro) so better remove it to make rooms for mate 20 and mate 20 pro.

Not gonna go for Mate 20 anytime soon coz just got the Mate 10 2 months back. No solid reason to update as long as Huawei give me the new camera UI and pie in the future.

Next update for me will be waiting for the 5G phones. Another 2 years maybe. Depends on how the mate 10 fairs.

Btw... No way I will buy the Mate 20 Pro. 6.9" is bloody huge. I do hope that they take the Honor Note 10 speaker and put it in Mate 20/Pro though. But definitely not the extreme screen size. I've previously used Mi Max and the phone stopped working properly because of the bends to its body over 1.5 years. The screen popped off :D :D

Hello, I need some help in deciding on which smartphone to get. The choices are 1) recontracting to mate 10, or 2) wait for the mate 20 or mate 20 pro to be released.

On Singtel website, mate 10 now costs $198 (im using combo 2), which is pretty darn cheap with high value for its price, compared to the other phones offered by Singtel. I can even get a $30 discount if I re-contract online.

However, I’m having this urge to wait for the mate 20 series due to the much better specs and performance it would give (kirin 980). The one thing that I’m afraid will be that Mate 20 series would be too expensive and not to my liking (regarding design, size, headphone jack etc) as we have no concrete idea on how it will be, before the actual showcase of the phone in mid October. Worse thing is, if I decide to go for Mate 10 by that time, Singtel would probably also have discontinued sales of Mate 10 in order to make way for the mate 20 series.

So, right now I have these options:

1) Recontract for the Mate 10 now at a very nice price (and probably cry in a corner when the Mate 20 series is released and mate 20 turns out to have suitable price and design, like having a headphone jack, microSD etc)

2) Tahan and wait for the Mate 20 series, which will be set to come to Singapore around the November period (most likely this period, according to the period where the mate 10 was released last year)

Can anyone advise me on what to do? I’m currently using an iphone 6 plus since 2014 (about time i change), and have made the decision to switch to huawei due to the huge potential that I see in the smartphones that this company makes. Thank you :)

Nah don't go for P20 Pro by any mean. Half year ago it's a good buy but not now.

Lack BT 5.0 (i use bluetooth earphone and looking to change to a 5.0 one soon), old BT4.2 just not reliable enough.

CPU/GPU combo still behind Snapdragon

Lack OIS/EIS in 4k mode that other phones can do.

The slow-mo in P20 Pro is a total crap that Huawei put out just for the sake of getting it there. No way a true slow-mo for the 960fps mode.

Solely a good still camera can't justify :D :D

As in like once you open the camera app, the flash is set to 'auto', you turn it off.

The next time you open the camera app, it is switched back to "auto" again.
