So far i tested nova and evie launcher. You can also google best launcher and there will be a list. Can try which suits u.

Ok, now that i have tested both launcher, safe to say that huawei kinda being a jerk for the following roadblock they implement for 3rd party launcher. And emui kinda sucks
1) lock screen app is not usable in 3rd party launcher. You either have to press the side button to lock or customize it at the 3rd party launcher
2) customise lock screen (double tap/swipe) to lock screen require either fully lock once activate (must use pin/puzzle swipe) or 5-10sec delay b4 lock. Both option fingerprint will not work as intended
3) icons at stock emui is buggy. Some might change. Some might not. No way to customise it individually. Using 3rd party launcher will face the lockscreen issues
4) AOD is the worst. No support for 3rd party app like whatsapp/telegram/messenger etc notification. EVEN IN EMUI 9! DARRNIT

i really like nova launcher since it really integrate into the system (not like everytime need to click to activate it)....but the lockscreen issues really turn me off..any workaround for those seasoned 3rd party launcher user?

will it have the same issues once you double tap to lock and to unlock you need
1) pin/swipe to unlock

or

2) 5-10sec delay to lock?

anyway, i found a proper way to lock screen in nova.

go widget and put in nova action...then choose screen lock for the button...allow it to operate through the system...and wala, u get the lockscreen app that u just press to lock the screen and unlock with fingerprint (no popup on pin/swipe and no delay)

f***...i restart my phone and it requires me to put in pin instead of usual swipe....i tried all my pin combination and still wrong! is there anyway to go for swipe instead of pin!?

yea usually it only prompt me using swipe after 3 restart. i just change my launcher to nova...and restart my phone..it only prompt me pin...tried all my comination and none of it works...next try the phone gonna lock for 30 minutes..f*** totally screwed...

you need to buy nova launcher prime. its only available for prime user iirc. its called app badges or something

I have but doesn't seems to work well also... It just can't integrate well with EMUI. D*mn this EMUI.

Indeed.. the gesture doesn't play well with Nova Launcher. EMUI looks quite dated compared to Nova.
