Anyone with the pro noticed any blue tint if view phone at an angle (using white background)? Nowadays, it seems the OLED display on a number of the phones (pixel 2 XL, iPhone X, LG V30) having such problems. Samsung panels on the other hand haven't got such issues.
The other issues with OLED is burn-in after sometime which was also reported on pixel and iPhone X.

Due to the technology limitation better avoid such display la.

if set to 12 or 20M at 4:3, if wanna full screen on tv when mirror, have to self crop to 16:9?

cos i mirror to tv at 4:3: both corners is cropped off, not full.

if i take pics at 16:9, mirror to tv is full.

Not gonna get burn in that quickly. Even Samsung amoled phones in the past take at least a few months or a year to get burnt in.

That's not very ideal knowing that the display will have issues in due time. Some of the OLED phones out there already have this issue, despite being a new set. Hopefully mate 10 pro wouldn't have this issue.

4:3 is from the early days due to 35mm standard if I am not wrong. Nowadays, most of TV, OLED or LCD regardless uses 16:9 wide aspect ratio.

Doesn't matter what aspect ratio you use for photo, depends on your scene, dont let the TV thingy affect your judgement on what aspect ratio to use when you are using your phone camera.

For video, it matters a lot because I don't think any phones will let you capture in 4:3, lol. All will be in 16:9 or the more recent 18:9. That is for video. Some movies do use a super wide aspect ratio, I don't know what is the aspect ratio number, 2:1 maybe, not sure.

That's the fact nowadays, either to choose phone with LCD panel to ovoid that(LCD does have its own limitation), or wait for those OLED manufacturer to improve the technology. There is not much end user can do.

I think I still prefer Note8 haha... Bought a Mate 10 Pro just to test it out. The lack of the Pen just breaks the deal for me

Prolly gifting this phone to my best friend for free anyways since he is a Huawei fan.

And also, OLED burnin problem can be avoided just don't leave the phone on a static image for hours at high brightness levels. That should prevent the burn in haha. From my experience just saying.

Any issues with Mate 10 Pro OLED display? Any burn-in or colour tint issues that surfaced on other phones?

It is an inherent issue with OLED that it will have burn in after sometime. That sometime might as you have observed comes in few days (with LG's PLED) or longer. Based on my observation, flagship phones are all starting to move to OLED due to the brilliant colors/ contrast, and the main reason I suspect is because it is plastic, so it can be bent or have odd cutouts/ designs. This gives manufacturers more leeway when it comes to design of the phone, as oppose to a flat piece of glass IPS screen.

Depending on how fast one change their phones, they may not experience much issues. Anyway, I have seen a lot of people using Samsung phones using AMOLED for couple of years now, but the screen still seems ok. At least I did not observe any burn ins. So may be it may not affect phones using AMOLED.

Between the 2, both have their strong points. I like the S-Pen feature, but what I heard was the battery on the Note 8 is quite poor. Therefore, I gladly lose the pen and gain a more durable battery and more friendly fingerprint scanner location.

In regards to the burn in issues, it is easy to get burn in even without high brightness level. For eg, AOD can get burn in if the image is static after some time. Navigation bar that tends to be static can get burn in also.

It took Samsung quite a few tries to get things right also when they introduced AOD and they fixed it by moving the image around (even if it's just a few pixel away so image may still appeared static but it as actually moved a little) after sometime so it doesn't get static. It takes the manufacturer's awareness of such issues and fixes to reduce burn in on screen but it also depends on user and the apps they used. For instance, if user run certain apps daily for long hours, there would be certain places on the app that remains consistent and static. So in the long run, burn in on those areas can be seen. Also keeping navigation bar on may not be a good idea so having immersive mode will help.

Anyway, I dunno if Huawei actually has this "moving pixels" in place on the pro phones with AOD and if immersive mode is on nav bar so I guess time will tell if Huawei does things correctly.

Got my mate 10 yest. I find the screen color quite washed out compared to Nexus 6p. Even the Zenfone 2 screen color is more vibrant. Already set to vivid and tried many different shades in display setting. maybe I missed setting something?
