My carousell notification or messages will not pop up until I launch the app. Most likely is being killed thru the battery management. I tried select "manage manually " in Launch under battery management, still no luck. This happened few times on whatsapp & wechat as well.
Strangely I also have this situation.

Try Facebook lite.
I find it more batts and data friendly. It's also a official apps from fb but designed for locations where internet coverage is limited.

completed my first 24 hours with the mate 10 pro, coming from a different brand (sony) for more than a decade.

1. LOVE the huge screen without large bezels, maximizing the screen area. the phone is only slightly larger than my previous z5, but has a much bigger usable screen (6" vs. 5.2") so it didn't feel much different for the change. but it is a tad heavier (178g vs 154g). will need to get used to heavier premium phones...
2. great battery life - was using it quite intensively with web, Instagram, facebook, listening to music (not stream), chrome, firefox, productivity apps like calendar... still got plenty of juice at night.
3. like the back case (jelly) which came with it. doesn't cover the colour (midnight blue) and is not thick or cheap looking either.

What I don't like (for now):
1. erratic Bluetooth functionality... can't get a stable connection between my smartwatch (garmin 935) and the phone. must always open the connect app before they can be connected. not sure why... have override the app management to manual instead of auto (suspect it auto cut-off the connection whenever the app is closed).
2. the screen protector somehow doesn't cover the screen fully. not sure why?! even the one sold by Huawei concept store is also the same. there's an obvious gap (a few mm) around the whole border.
3. previously on mini-usb and not used to usb-c so have to buy new accessories like adaptors and cables (ok just need to get used to new tech I suppose)

overall a fantastic phone! my colleague was commenting "har? Huawei?" the typical reaction towards china brands. i was telling her they have already overtaken apple in terms of sales... hopefully the brand will be more accepted in time to come. good potential.

now hoping the software part will improve from time to time. am still getting used to the new UI...

midnight blue is a fantastic colour! (but i would have wished for titanium grey...)

Thinking about getting a Mate 10 over Mate 10 pro

Since processor and camera all the same

2 gb extra ram, water resistance function, OLED screen all not that important to me

And really cannot stand without a microsd card slot of headphone jack

Price difference also quite substantial

Am I making a wrong decision ?

no, dont be tempted by the pro word or maybe pro gives u slightly higher status.

some of us here uses mate 10 and they love it.

im with 64gb and loaded 128gb card onto it, that gives me 192gb. :D

only thing is the size, its slightly bigger and less refined than the pro. other than that it works perfect as the pro.
