still don't get used to the fingerprint button in front, too use to mate 9, haha

My previous phone had rear fp sensor too, but after using M10 I feel the front fp sensor works much better for me.
So easy to access when phone is on table. Phone in hand also easy to access as the phone is not too big despite the big screen.

Used P10 and P10 Plus before. Seems camera from those are better than my Mate 10 Pro. Even feels snappier to use before.

Maybe oreo problem? Emui 8? Or AI needs weeks to adjust to my usage. Let's see more after a week.

But overall satisfied specially the battery part.

Hi guys, need some advise here...thinking of jumping to Huawei from Sony Z3 (dinosaur phone I know)...was looking at Mate 9 and 10 at Best and for some reason I felt that the build quality, camera and screen of Mate 9 is better than Mate 10, am I missing something?

Using mate 10 now. So far everything is good. Battery life better than Z5 Premium and slightly better than Z2. Coming from a Z1, Z2 and Z5 Premium user...

Managed to get one of apparently only 6 blue Pro sets at the NEX roadshow this morning. Sold off my P9 of 18 months and noticed the Mate 10 Pro was about S$400 more by comparison. I'm used to some of the hidden Huawei gems and touches like knuckle commands, knurled power button, amazing battery life in standby mode and the dual camera set-up with monochrome sensor so those things will surely please a first time Huawei user....but what do I think I've got for my S$400 difference apart from some inflation?
Well:
1) Bigger, clearer screen that has 'always on' and works a treat (goes off in your pocket as it should). Minimal bezels and a smarter professional look
2) A noticeably faster processor in the latest Kirin set
3) The desktop projection display is something else, really is 'out-of-the-box' and if you're in the habit of typing say, WORD documents on your phone, it's like working on a PC
4) The floating dock is neat and gives you even more effective screen

So, are each of these worthy of 100 dollars each? Maybe not, but in case nobody noticed, certain other manufacturers quietly raised the price bar this last quarter and now the 1000 dollar high-end phone will now become effectively 'entry level'.

Gripes?
1) Much as been said about the fingerprint sensor on the back in the overall symmetry, but I have to say, the portrait arrangement causes - me at least - to keep touching the bottom camera lens by mistake unlike my P9 where the lenses were well out of reach in a landscape format.
2) Haven't noticed any of the reported screen brightness fluctuations at all. I never use auto brightness

It's enough to be a step up from a P9 and if you're coming from non-Huawei background, I think you'll be pleasantly impressed with the Mate 10/Pro

Sony Z2 and Z2 Compact have very impressive battery life. However, this all went south with each newer version as Sony starts reducing the battery capacity.

Should i wait for titanium gray to come in?

Sent from Nokia 8250 using GAGT

I feel brown and blue are better. If you check it out at the store, I was originally keen to get the blue version. However, the mocha brown seems to have a more lasting look. Also, I am not sure if it is me, but looking at the phone under different lighting or angle seems to show a slightly different colour tone which is quite nice and unique.

why u guys don't use auto brightness? i tot it's the smarter way to conserve battery since it'll set the brightness according to the surroundings, instead of consistently bright. am i missing something?

Becos you are smarter than the phone :)
Auto brightness requires the use of sensor to detect the light hence it will drain battery.

The only down side is if you set it way down and go under the sun, you might not be able to see the screen. Unless you are constantly in and out of office, auto is really not necessary especially if you want to save a bit of juice
