Some thoughts after using mate 10 for 4 days:
- screen contrast is really not bad for a lcd screen. No problem with the auto brightness, it seems to know what it's doing
- hand grip and form factor is good, despite it being 16:9. One handed usage poses no problem for me. Better than my moto z play, despite the bigger screen
- battery life is kind of a bag of mixed feelings for me. Could be due to the new phone euphoria. Or maybe I'm spoilt by z play. Hit or miss: sometimes 6+ SOT, max I reached is about 8 SOT. FhD or wqhd resolution doesn't seem to make a difference.
- software : first time using emui. Not too bad. I like some of their power features and the fingerprint sensor navigation. However, it still seems quite buggy. The swipe gesture on the fp sensor will fail to work completely sometimes.

The trick for swipe gesture to work 100% is to swipe slowly

Ya I know. But there are times that the gesture will just refuse to work no matter how slow I swipe. After a while it will just work again. Hope there's a more stable release coming

On my old LG V10 phone, I was able to use fingerprint to login to dbs apps. But now I don't see this option to login using fingerprint on Mate 10.
Any ideas why?

u mean directly logged in to your statement account or fingerprint to launch the app?

Yup, there is the always on display selection under the security settings, under screen locks and password where you can choose always on display.. actually is that even an important function?
