Hi, anyone migrated from Samsung Galaxy ecosystem to the Huawei Mate 10 Pro? Thinking of making the leap of faith but unsure about Huawei phone interface.

Thanx.

I switched to Huawei Mate10 from Samsung Note 4. I've been using nova launcher on both so UI wise I don't have much comments.

I do miss S Planner though. Huawei calendar app is quite lacking and I'm currently trying to make do with Google calendar. S planner still reigns in this aspect I feel, but could be just personal preference. I also missed the ability to scribble on cropped screenshot taken with the S Pen without the need to launch any editing software.

You can download this Business Calendar app.
Not too bad. Widget is nice too.
Need to pay for full features but the free tier works well enough for me

From an Android device to another Android device, the change is not that great. At least for me, I don't use brand specific applications on an Android device. Typically I use Google applications, so not much of an impact to me when switching.

M10P on 132. No wifi calling option on Singtel. Guess that telco must support the model before option is available.

Bros, thinking of the m10pro but read some reviews about issues with loading 3rd party launchers on it and incesaant associated issues like errors , apps trying to go back to the home launcher, notices keep asking u to go back default launcher etc

Is it a big issue? I not a fan of China launchers and usually put Google launcher or Nova

Thanks in advance

Not an issue for me. I set home launcher to Nova launcher under "Default Apps" in settings right after I installed Nova launcher, I was never being prompted.

I think there was only once where Nova launcher crashed was when I attempted to use the default clock widget on home screen. After that I just used my third party app widgets and it's fine. Default music widget works as well. Not sure why the default clock widget would cause the launcher to crash.

hi bros, appreciate advice.

my huawei mate 10 pro keeps closing down apps that i want stay open and its driving me crazy.

sometimes it shuts them down once every 1 or 2 days, sometimes shut them down every 1 or 2 hours, sometimes in minutes

i've already set the apps to be managed manually from settings, battery, launch. see screenshot below. but the phone still keep closing down those apps once in a while.

some examples,

maps - i would have a route with destination and direction loaded. sometimes when i turn off and turn on the phone mere seconds later and open maps again, the route and destination will be gone and i have to enter destination all over again.

chrome - logged in to some pages, went back to home screen, and when i open chrome again, the app will be reloaded and the pages logged out. incognito pages will be all gone.

how can i prevent the phone from closing some of my apps?

Any advice appreciated.

Huawei print screen using knuckle. Quite convenient.cropping is instant during the print screen. You can choose the cropping before you save.

I know. But you can't scribble/colour/highlight on it right after cropping it. With Samsung Note series and S Pen, you can. It's definitely much more convenient than most flagship phones out there.
