Yes, should be not much issues. But please remember to create a factory image of your original OS which is shipped with your Thinkpad first. That is the crucial step.

Yeah, saw it too. For a moment I was tempted to buy before I realise that X201 is a better buy from IHL and also much more suited for most apps.

What the heck do they mean by 2GB x 1,250GB ?

Anyway I can get it cheaper by $100, including bluetooth and WWAN antenna...haha

Repair T60

Anyone know where to get Thinkpad repair? Any good and reliable shop to recommend? My T60 leds are gone... left only the Wireless led working.

@ Peter - Your best option is to pay a visit to the Thinkpad service center at Changi, though expect to pay an evaluation fee and other misc. cost for part replacements. So you will end up paying quite a bit to get your lights fixed.

@ helpless - You can get the coolermaster series for coolers. Am using one and its pretty good with fan speed settings, extra USB port, nice design with LED light. Not sure about the keyboard protectors, though I have seen some online. Personally, I rather not use a protector since it makes it difficult to type properly and use the trackpoint. I just take the time during boot up to brush and clean the keys. :)

erm...

may i ask.

Thinkpad have one of the best cooling system, why you need a laptop cooler?

And the legendary thinkpad keyboard feel, why you want to spoil it with a keyboard protector?????

@ Westwest - Personal preference lah right? Anyway, with regards to the coolers, I find it quite helpful when I play games like Fallout 3 on my T61p. My Thinkpad is practically an oven and the entire surface is hot to the touch, so with the cooler, it really helps improve the airflow internally and prevent any malfunctions or damage due to heat.

Having said that, of course its not very portable, so I only use it at home. :)

my W510 heats up madly when playing games. although i personally do not find notebook coolers effective, you can try the coolermaster infinite series as they can reach up to 2k RPM max. the normal max speed for notebook coolers is 1.5k RPM.

for keyboard protector, you can go to gmarket to buy online: keyboard protector. less than 3 bucks only and delivery included..

omg that kind of keyboard protector is so sucky... well my W510 has no heat issue when comes to gaming. starcraft 2 and h.a.w.x.
