Currently Lenovo warehouse no stock for i7/4GB/256GB. Only i5/4GB/128GB is available.

However, i7/8GB/256GB with 3G is coming soon. Estimated ETA is 2-3 weeks. Probably 3k region. It can be lower than that though.

oh yes! haha, eg you were at lenovo store in eg California to purchase your thinkpad.
went to service centre the other day and asked them about this.
quite funny that even though it's IWS, if purchased via CGW it doesn't apply.
quite smart they've become.

Anybody facing this issue recently? Is this still their SOP?
My machine is also from CGW, worry if got issue.

Does anyone feel that the display on the x1 carbon is very bad? Went to Funan the other day and thought I could see many lines on the display. Is it supposed to be this bad? Giving me second thoughts..

what do you mean by many lines? did you try changing background, settings? check with the sales staff helping you.
most people feedback X1 Carbon has a better display than regular models.

I believe it looked like you could see the lines of pixels.. not sure if it had something to do with the matte display though. Went to every shop in funan and it looked the same... will just wait for 3g model to come and have a another even more detailed look then, and decide then...

From the list I see, it is still coming with Win7Pro. I don't know if it will be updated. But anyway, the upgrade will cost only $17.99, which is still a good deal since you get both OS.

SRP is 3.2k. I think it can be done below 3k.

Installed Windows 8 to my X1, everything works well after installing new driers from Lenovo website.

Only 1 problem: can't get USB 3.0 ... Anyone can help?

Just checked with AddOn @ Funan. Said 8GB X1 Carbon likely end nov then will hv stock.

So many other higher specced models coming, feels that X1 Carbon losing appeal.

Yeah, I saw the display unit. The pixels really looks quite far apart when u look at the screen closeup. As mentioned in the review here

So this is mainly a concern when doing word documents and other general productivity tasks? And should be less of a concern for video watching/pictures? If so I'm a lot more likely to still buy it... As I don't think it'll bother me too much in day to day surfing, but would really annoy me if I cannot enjoy my many videos...

I don't know about the videos...u'll prob hv to test it out and see.
I do find the pixelation somewhat disconcerting.

Not sure abt the 3G with 8GB. The salesgirl was very not going to commit on the dates etc...only said they are taking pre-orders.

Hi how do I purchase from overseas and have warranty? Depot warranty is only for within USA. And the options at the customize screen is not very precise sane for the international warranty page...

Do I opt for the next business day warranty?
