$39 from ikea simple and clean looking, put against the wall is very sturdy. 100x60cm.

This table might sag if you put heavy stuff in the middle / on counter top. I think its made from particleboard and not fibreboard. Also it doesn't have metal bars supporting the underside of the table like galant/ bekant which results in the sag. So basically no heavy weight on table top

Also the laminate may crack and peel off from the edges of table. I used a malm for 2 weeks and the laminate started cracking. I eventually returned it.

Im planning to buy a computer desk for my new place. something simple.

have been eyeing on ikea computer desk

http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/40244746/

the 50cm depth seems abit tight

not sure if its durable or not.

qoo10 have alot of cheaper offer too.

any recommendation bros? :s22::s22:

Don't just go for price imo. U need to consider its reliability in the long run and while the micke might look nice, remember to read the product information for the table. Micke uses alot of particleboard which is compressed wood fillings. It will not support heavy loads on table top. That is why most people recommended galant for its price - performance. But they have not discontinued it and raised its price by rebranding and redesigning. There was a time they were clearing stock for it the price was under 100.

you can add another another leg at the back center to prevent sag.

This table is not for putting heavy things. Monitor is ok.

I recently upgraded my table to IKEA's Bekant model. It's 160cm long and has a strong underframe. I place all my heavy items (PC, monitor, speakers) right along the underframe bars.

If you have the space for it, it's a great table for a desktop.
