I'm using a Galant table too, for about three years already. I don't think you need to worry much about the table "bending" because the steel frame underneath it will prevent that from happening.

However, the finishing for the wood they used for the table-top is not the best. I once has something sticky stuck to the table, so I used some scotch tape to try and lift it off. The table coating (which is a thin piece of film) tore off. Can see/feel the wood underneath. The wood itself is not damaged or anything, just the finishing. Anyway, this also depends on which table-top you go for.

My father stands on my table to change the curtains. He is about 65kg. So, no worries. I recommend the "A" legs. I think they can withstand more than the "T" legs.

Frankly speaking, i find this a good replacement for sitoca tables. Just like yr dad, i sometimes sit on the table and lifted my legs off the floor. Yet it didn't collapse. I'm like double yr dad's weight.

the wood for ikea like not solid if you knock on it, why not just buy those "office" table. those boring gray but use super thick wood

Galant wood is solid. Even if buy second hand, got no worries.

My humble Ikea Galant table with the CPU stand. Please take note there is a height limitation for the CPU tower. Bought in 2007.

My 60kg mum can climb up and stand on it.

Sorry for the poor quality photo. :o

how come the ikea website put T-leg to be more expensive than A-leg? means T-leg is able to handle heavy weight better than A-leg?

Galant is particle board, a.k.a recycled compressed wood chips/saw dust glued together with some resin to form a plank. If you live long enough to damage a galant and get to see below the melamine foil finish you will understand what i'm saying :) The reason why galants are so strong is due to the metal frame below which is a very good design.

Saw before, very good idea cos ikea kitchen countertops are solid wood and is damn cheap, perhaps i'll consider this thanks man :D:D

Cos T-leg is one leg do the work of 2, A leg is 2 legs do the work of 2, thus it has to be stronger than one A leg, probably why the price is such. Also galant's T leg looks a lot better than the A legs, at least to me :o

Galant series is the better range. I buy only Galant range for my study room and I vouch for it. It's worth the money.

Just to ask for the galant series, for the table top add-on, its connected to the tabletop itself, and not the side of the table, right?
