It’s Samsung and android you are talking about bro lol what else do you expect? Sell above RRP one day one?

Ok true. adiBOY u always have very fast insider news to new iPhone predictions. Akin to Ming-Chi Kuo. I read all your predictions on the features on page 2 of this thread. All spot on for iPhone 11 Pro.

Next iPhone naming should be iPhone 11S Pro Max. Damn Long. So as what Ming-Chi Kuo is predicting, it would be a brand new design. Notch will get smaller too. Until eventually come to a year there’ll be no notch perhaps? Since most android phones are able to replicate that already.

Actually come to think of it, A12 Bionic chip performance already hit the summit point already. Each yr, every iteration of AXX chipset still can beat previous year’s in terms of performance. By the time come to A20 Bionic chip, I think reboot iPhone on/off only takes 1 sec.

What other features do we really need for handphones in general, across all brands? Performance and features wise, companies keep outdoing each other. It has almost come to a saturation point already.

Until come to a point if Apple releases future to be iPhone with sapphire glass. 6.5”++ screen size wouldn’t be cheap. If by then RRP for sapphire glass iPhone with concierge service button cost say S$8,000, would Apple go the Vertu route?

Upcoming foldable phone Huawei Mate X is already priced at €2299 (S$3514).

It’s already dropping. Carousell users are forming their own RRP. Take for example the most popular size 256gb. Apple RRP $2039. I just saw ppl marketing at $1920. Savings of $119.

Sim-only plans is beginning to take form and gain acceptance for mass users in SG, as compared to last year. That being said, this year’s iPhone prices wouldn’t drop so fast as there will be lesser ppl who sign phones to sell to famous retailer shops like MS, WM, RWM.

I got a 256 XS Max 256gb for $1650 in 3 Nov 2018 from carousell. Savings of $389 after 1.5 mths of wait after the mid Sep iPhone launch day. IIRC, mobile shops were offering $1620 take-in price for this gb size ATPOT. This is just a price form guide for those who’re interested to buy iPhones at a discounted RRP. Mobileshops will then mark up $80-100 to resell. I.e. they take in at $1620, they will resell at $1700-1720.

Rule of thumb is always to: wait for mobile shops to set the take-in price first. Then you offer to self collect from end-users at carousell at their location, at $30-50 above the mobileshops’ prices. The trick is to create a win-win situation, you save those end-users’ time and cumbersomeness to offload their phones to MS/RWM. You yourself also save around $50 below what Mobile Square/Red White Mobile is selling.

Thanks for sharing, will try your trick next time.

Maybe can. The dealers control the price de.

I also think it's possible if it's a telecom set.
if at $2,100. It's only $249 below RRP and some had already pre order with Telecom and made payments before they realize the stock availability status at Apple.com.
There are ppl who just re contract for the sake to sell and make some quick cash without calculate the overall amount they pay with plan.

Apple set is out of the game and telecom set are the only ones that purchase and unable to return, had to release below RRP without hurting their purchase value.

pricing determine by who willing to offer higher to secure faster, the user or dealers.

Yup I know the proprieties of the notch. Nor do I hate it. I’m just offloading what Ming-Chi Kuo is predicting. I meant on the point on Android replicating is a full fledge screen ratio, not on FaceID.

https://www.google.com.sg/amp/s/www.macrumors.com/2019/07/10/notch-less-iphone-2020-rumor/amp/

Yes. Please understand why the notch has to be there on the iPhone. Don’t follow the internet blindly.

Ya I don’t detest the notch. I just believe it would get smaller. It’s all in our wish list isn’t it? Is it feasible? To hide the FaceID under the OLED panel in the future? It’d be all in the Apple engineers’ aim too? I’m just intrigued by what Ming-Chi Kuo is predicting based on the link abv.

Lol I’m far from Mr Kuo. I’ll only share whatever I know and able to share. Anyway, next year iPhones will definitely sport a completely new design with more industrial look like the iPad Pro.

Notch will definitely be there due to the Face ID, the most secured biometric recognition on a mobile device. No one else comes close so far. It will be smaller because of newer and more advanced components.

Apple design and control the A series chipsets which allows them to be ahead of competition for 2 years. Processor now is as fast it gets and also becoming stale. The way forward will be ML and AR which Apple are pushing aggressively now.

Are you guys really able to spot the diff in screen quality between LCD and OLED displays?

I feel like as an average consumer myself my usage cycles between social media, movie streaming and light gaming will not have a impact on the screen quality performance unless you really take both phones and compare side by side?

Meanwhile the difference that I can really feel is the battery life? I think changing my X to 11 will have a huge batt improvement with the new bionic chip and bigger battery size now..

X to 11 is a good choice. If you are okay with going from OLED to LCD. Especially black colour, the difference is significant. Otherwise, Apple LCD is king in the mobile industry now.

Imagine they are the ones who able to fold the LCD under the screen on their XR to prevent the chin as you always see on Android devices? Insane level of engineering.

Oops ok sorry bro. Thanks for pointing out the RRP of Note 10+ at $1598. How come within less than 1 month of release (Aug 24th 2019), Samsung price drop so fast from $1598 to able-to-be-purchased price of $1150 at mobile shops. Depreciation of $448 within less than a month.

You need to know why 3rd party shops are able to sell at a much lower price. Despite being new sets with local warranty, some are actually being 'resold' new by customers.

Yes. Once you go OLED. very hard to go back to LCD. Unless you are not very particular.

Obvious as this may sound, sometimes we need to manage expectations and use some common sense. I can't remember which iPhone it was, 5 I think.

Just because Apple said the screen was tougher, some idiot on Youtube threw it out his 2nd storey bedroom to test and when the screen cracked he said Apple lied about a tougher screen. :s8:

Just like I'm sure some numb nut will KPKB that Tim Cook lied about 11 having the toughest screen on an iPhone cos it cracked when the phone dropped out of his pocket when he was speeding on his e-scooter. :s13:

We already have idiots testing the Apple Card with a gun and bullet just because it’s titanium.

Tempted by iPhone 11with the promise of even better battery life than the XR. Buy having used a XR before, will it be the exact same panel?
