Seems there some people buying the 20W USB-C Charger before pre-order. Is it because they foresee it might be oos?
I bought an Ugreen one from Shopee which should arrive the middle of next week..that should do for a while. I do forsee a temporary shortage as people make a mad rush for these chargers when they pick up their new phones.

Review by you?
embargo lifts then

edit: btw the charger doesn't come with a usb cable, I presume Apple's intention is that you'll be using the cable that came in the iPhone box. Cutting down on waste is nice I guess but I always assumed a charging solution would come...you know, complete. Speaking of which, the MagSafe charger requires the 20w USB charger which, you guessed it, isn't included. This kind of nickel and diming is frankly incredible to me.

i was also contemplating about 11 pro or 12, in the end got the 12

almost same price, iphone 12 apple price vs 11 pro street price

much lighter than 11 pro, also has OLED screen and better cameras (wide and ultra wide)

honestly i find ultra wide more useful than telephoto lens... =:p

Why didn't you consider iPhone 12 Pro instead. The overall borders bezel is much thinner. Stainless steel material feels more premium and is more durable than aluminium. Difference between the 2 models gb to gb (128/256gb) is less than $300.

When you hold a stainless steel phone, you can feel and appreciate the premium material being used to construct the phone. I still reminisce holding the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte last time...Sapphire screen. Will sapphire glass ever make it to Apple iPhone Pro series? Since AW steel watches are with sapphire screen too. If future Pro series phones are made of sapphire front screen with a price tag of S$3000 upwards, I believe all the diehard iPhone Pro users will still support and buy.

Anyway, this year is good. They share the same size 6.1" and the cases you buy for iPhone 12 will fit for Pro too, should you have the slightest intention to change to Pro in the future : )

All along their power adapter doesn’t come with any cable. You have to get them separately.

Well you bet. AW is their test bed to new material. OLED and Stainless steel have made it to iPhones. Sapphire coated glass could be next if they could find a supplier which could supply them in humongous volume.

I would prefer ceramic to come to the iPhone next though.

11pro max vs iPhone 12. Get the iPhone 12. If you already have the 11pro max, can consider to go iPhone 12 or 12 pro max or just wait for iPhone 13. Every year the camera will be better than the previous anyway.

This is why i said, if you want to buy/upgrade from the 11 pro/XS max, GET THE iPhone 12 pro MAX. If you are thinking between 12 pro or the 12 pro MAX, GET THE iPhone 12 pro MAX.

The 12 pro MAX have bigger sensor on the wide angle and it feature sensor-shift OIS. 12 pro and below, the sensor used are the same as 11 pro, which are the same as the XS. Only diff, software.

With 12 pro MAX using bigger sensor on their wide, i'm pretty sure this sensor will come to the ultra wide lens on the iPhone 13.

Like what adiboy said, go big or go home, or just go for the 12/12 mini. I bet the iphone 12 will be the best seller across this series.

Remember, tele photos can be cropped with software whereas ultra wide cannot be expanded through software. iOS usually uses the wide lens to cropped to 2x anyway under poor lighting.

Also to note, the tele lens on the Pro Max although has a longer zoom range, it is a slower fStop at 2.2 compared to the 12 Pro at 2.0. You may think 0.2 doesn’t seems like a huge difference but in mobile photography where the sensors and lens are so miniature in sizes, the 0.2 difference can be magnified.

Also, even with a bigger sensor, Apple will make the differences less visible to the regular consumers.

Embargo lifts by then? Looking forward to the reviews, particularly on the night shoots comparison

Yes. iPad Air on Wednesday. US timing. Reviewers already have their iPhones 12 and iPad Air with them.

Had the gold ready to checkout. Got cold feet at the last second (just too bling for me) and went with the PacBlue

Is there a difference in the ultra wide for 12 pro and 12 pro max? Agree that tele isn’t as important to me as ultra wide.

So in conclusion, the difference between 12 pro and 12 pro max isn’t that huge? (Referring to the part Apple make differences less visible to the regular consumers).

Asking because I’m on 11 pro max now and considering 12 pro this time cause it’s smaller in size.

No difference in UW lens and sensors between 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max.

There would be a slight difference in night mode but I wouldn’t say it’s night and day kind of difference. You can always wait for reviews to decide.

If tele isn’t important to you, just with the iPhone 12 since it’s lighter and everything else is the same except material.
