True, the prices here are some what inflated. Calling it a scam though..please look up the definition of a scam.

And pulling Samsung into the comparison isn't too helpful, since prices on flagship Androids tend to drop by $100/month after launch.

I put in Samsung price as comparison so the disparity and iphone price inflation can be seen.

I give Google and Samsung 2 years, they will follow Apple for sure! Other OEMs will start to think, okay since Apple which sell million of iPhones in terms of volume can do away chargers and inbox earphones and people still buy and sales is even so good during COVID-19, let’s do it as well.

Smaller box can packed more retail box into container for shipping, save money.

From USD 829 to $1299, we have to consider exchange rate and gst. Based on the exchange rate of 1.36 and gst, we should be paying $1206.40. Yes it is $93 more, but not that much more. They need to hedge exchange rate too

So yes, am perfectly ok to pay this price. If you are not, just look away and buy something else

You can give whatever justifications. But still the fact is the price in Singapore is bloated. Doesn't deviate from the fact that iphone buyers here are paying more.

I remember there's a website that compares iPhone launch prices across the world. Singapore isn't the cheapest but there are many countries that are more expensive.

But they bumped up the transistor count massively and probably clock speed too, what they gained from going down to 5nm probably got eaten up already.

US prices excludes taxes. So you would need to remove get from Singapore prices to be a fair compare.
