iPhone 5 Battery Life

fk la....iphone5 batt life really sucks. i charge 8 hours overnight....knn, within 1 hr of coming to work, using my phone to hear ipod and whatsapp chat occasionally and reading a lil stock news. 75% liao. Lame leh....its longer, lighter and lousier la. cant believe i ran around sg to purchase a **** phone like this..

I also queue up 5.5 hours with my wife and kid (No choice wife have to sign as my M1 account is park under her corporate plan) until 10.30pm..to get this cheese pie..somemore next day I RMA my set and get a new one.

there has been articles about how coverage affects battery life.
did u have ur lte on? singapore's coverage is particularly bad.
until then, it would be the same for all phones.

bro, the really sad part is im on starhub and there is no LTE. thats why im pissed. i mean if this LTE thing is new and on myphone at least i can give apple excuse say they never expect LTE eat so much batt...im on 3g and it drains so fast...really leh...i feel like i bought a **** phone...rather use my 4s damn...

I off my lte, wifi, location service and all apps shutdown.
Now is 89%.....and I leave my hp as it is

Later I come back and post again

Now 83%......

i really regret not waiting for new batches now like my friend asked me to....if apple really announce that this was their oversight and future production will have better batteries instilled....i cfm take my phone smash on the ground then take a blender and blend it. Out on youtube see can garner enough views for youtube to pay me then maybe i can buy the better version. !@#$%^&*

No it doesn't bro, norm temperature...i think the fact that i realised this was a problem told it to my bro and have him one day later telling me i was right abt the battery life bc he also feels the same way and searching keywords "battery life iPhone 5" on Google and seeing numerous articles, forum topics and complains goes to cfm that indeed iPhone 5 battery life is really sucky. We have all bought a ****ty product...think all the excuses like LTE, settings, this that should go out the window...Apple if wana come out something like that, dont come out better la. fu tim cooks...ppl still say his style is focusing on hardware...BS...

hi, those who are having battery draining issues may try to do a DFU restore. My friend's battery was draining very fast, but after doing a DFU restore, it is much better. What she did is do a phone backup through iTunes (connected via the usb cable) first, and then put the phone into DFU mode and did a restore.

Yes what apps and all other data related apps will work on 3G

My battery still drain very fast..
I have reset the phone to factory setting, start as new phone
Turn off push email, calendar and contact
Grant push notification to selected apps only
Disabled location services for unnecessary system services
turn off LTE

So far, the phone in standby mode is really good. Drop 1-2% from 8am to 9.30am..
But, the moment I start whatsapp, it drops like hell again...
Now at 10.48am, battery left 78%...

Is the whatsapp the culprit here?

for the less lucky people, if you want to use the cutting edge, prepare to be cut sometimes. many apps are not updated yet, so who knows what errors are going on (including ones on their server) such that the battery is getting a hammering.

it sucks that things are not perfect, but as with the previous iphones, it just takes time to stabilise. for now, the current checks have been discussed extensively. "reset all settings" is the only official word from apple cso (found on another thread), and it works to a tangible extent. as for the rest of the improvements, got to wait for the third-party developers.

edit: your service provider is partly at fault too, due to signal strength. if signal is weak or sporadic, your phone works harder.

Even though starhub no LTE, make sure the LTE option is turned off. I would think that it would keep trying to search for an LTE signal even if there is none if the option is still enabled. Hence the battery drain.

Screen brightness 20%, push mail OFF, 3G only, location services turned off, BT/wifi off.

Used whatsapp, took one photo and post on Instagram, sent 3 messages on Facebook, read twitter once.

Phone was in standby when not in use as I was having lessons.

At 1pm phone left 67%...

Normal? :/
