Not sure if yours have LTE if on SH.

i only see 3G on my starhub leh

Battery life great here, Singtel lte. Even when it sometimes drop to 3G I don't disable lte.

And my friends say that you must charge 8h if not your battery life will suck but it's nonsense, really.

Normal.... Only if your service provider got 4g then got "lte", else it's only 3g

Think I have the same battery issues.
I unplugged my iPhone at 5.15am with 18% remaining:

Usage: 4hrs 17min
Standby: 12hrs 24min

Did a bit of surfing during my train ride. Is this normal?

I'm running Whatsapp, and several other push based apps, it doesn't cause any more battery drain. The way push works on iOS devices is that it goes through Apple's servers, so only one connection is required. So you use one push service, or 100, it's the same amount of battery. Of course if you are getting a lot of messages, and answering to it, it's different, as the app is running in the foreground, etc. and using battery.

My latest battery stats for today:

Usage: 2hr 40m
Standby: 10h 53m
Battery: 43%

if your language is set to british english, then you should look for "mobile data" instead of cellular.
