Once your line is activated with the eSIM, it should work like how your physical SIM used to, there shouldn't be any difference.

eSIM is just a digitalization of your physical sim. It only implementation is the telco that issues those sim card that is all. you can still data roam as per normal like your physical card just now without your physical card.


The general and good idea is to have your home telco using eSIM.

Then your physical sim card slot can be used after you buy those cheap data simcard for the country you are visiting and use the physical sim for data there.

I called 1627 and ask to convert but they can’t do it, told me to visit M1 MAIN shop in order to get the qr code

Dropped by an M1 shop just now. It took about 20 mins to deactivate physical SIM. After that, scanned the QR code and added the eSIM on my phone.

Now I’m wondering how many eSIM profiles could be installed on a single device. Currently I have 2 eSIM plans on my phone.

We probably still have some teething problems to iron out before SG can say it's really eSIM-ready.

Erm...so eSIM and the nano SIM must be from same operator? Cannot eSIM is M1, nano SIM is SingTel etc?

True though. I don’t have a XS/XS Max/XR but X. For now I’d just stick to my Note9 for dual SIM feature. Hopefully by next year when I re-contract, the new iPhone will have the dual SIM feature ironed out.

physical sim need to be deactivated....then in case when the iPhone need servicing mean my line is down together...unless I have another esim capable phone.

yes thats why u need to think hard if u need e sim or not.
