I'm totally pissed off with Singtel already and giving up waiting for eSIM service.

Just placed the order from Taobao for a dual SIM slot to modify my iP-XR to dual SIM. Of course it comes with the risk - warranty, rubber seal, re-sale bla bla bla.... don't care. As long as i have confident Do-it-myself to change this component, it is a plug and play, no soldering required.

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0d.6639537.1997196601.4.65017484hpOvHL&id=584782884985

Damaged: S$20-25

you guys may try if u wanna take this risk for a gain...or buy this component and ask the professional phone repairer to swap the SIM slot.

Just completed swapping dual SIM module into my iPhone XR... successful!!
This dual SIM module is just a SIM card reader so no changes on default IMEI numbers.

Will share the my screenshot later

Actually, quick question. I'm currently on StarHub but need the esim feature and since StarHub has yet to make esim available for iPhone, can I port over to M1 first and when StarHub is ready with esim for iPhone and I port back to StarHub?

I'm on SIM only plan.

As long as you are not under contract, you can port over to any telco that accepts you now.

You should know M1 charges activation for the eSIM unless you managed to ask them to waive off. Good luck:)

the perimeter water seal has damaged after pry off the screen so I apply the new water seal which comes in a set with the dual SIM slot

Means you have to DIY in future in the event of battery change etc. Wouldn’t it be simpler to port over to M1 rather than replacing the parts?

With this reader, are you able to achieve dual standby or triple standby if the eSIM is also activated?

Bro, most of us are hand cuffed by the contract, not as simple as u think to port over.

To answer your 2nd question, iPhone only has two radios, esim chip was not embedded on the dual SIM slot

Not only DIY, this seal needs to be replace on any repairs by the reparier. As long as you pry out the screen, the water seal will damage

This works well for me. Finally can ditch another phone. Woo hoo.

Works on Apple Watch too - separate notifications for 2 apps

Number porting is easy. Just make sure you don’t terminate the line before it got transferred to the new telco. Also watch out for your contractual period.

If you're willing to pay the penalty for early termination of current ST contract, you could port out to M1.
