There's so many things to eat everywhere you turn. The only problem I have food wise is how to fit everything I want to eat within the days I'm there without putting on 10kg![]()
Sushi (We do not eat raw fish, so a place where we can order the type of sushi we want would be great instead of having it come in a set.)
I'm missing something here.................sushi is raw fish. Why do you want to eat sushi if you do not eat raw fish?
sushi
a Japanese dish consisting of small balls or rolls of vinegar-flavoured cold rice served with a garnish of vegetables, egg, or raw seafood.
I only eat those without raw fish. Can be egg / eel, cooked fish, prawns.
Proper sushi place, if you tell them you don't want raw stuff. They will kick you out immediately. Few years ago got one case of China tourists asking for cooked fish on their sushi at one of the top place. Quite a uproar.sushi

Lol. Perhaps just once to see how it is like for petty blue. One man's likes could be another man's poison. But yes, the reviews by the locals generally were average and the chef seemed to them more media-hungry than doing better in his dishes. Not cheap either and you need to make a reservation online.
I realise Tabelog ratings seldom go above 4.0!
What's a decent grade?
What about yakitori...yakitori is chicken meat on a stick right?
I've included piss alley (shinjuku) as a food stop but don't know if got english menu or not.
Basically yes, but the range is quite wide. It can include veges, pork, beef, intestines etc. Not to mention all the different parts of all those meat mentioned. This will be a much better choice than eating sushi if you dont eat raw fish. If you really want to try sushi, as someone has replied, go for Kaiten (conveyor belt) sushi as high end sushi restaurants will definitely be 80-90% raw fish.

I'd say that shops above 4 are generally the elite of their field.4.0 and above is quite easy to find in Tokyo. Normally I aim for 4.3 and above and ate before 4.7
In Kyoto normally I also aim 4.0 around there. Outside of big city then rating normally below 4.0
Oh god...looks like fussy eaters will find it hard in japan
I also don't want to eat intestine sia...just "normal" chicken parts like breast, wing and thighs...no weird stuff like liver, stomach, heart.![]()
