Don't see whats wrong with the cheaper choice, most of the problem are with over usage and underestimating how fast one can use up data. Had used $20 sim for 10GB 15days with no issue.

You fly to Japan is to watch videos or enjoy scenery? Need so much data to insta/fb/etc, i think stay in SG sua.

He ALREADY said his is a BIG group and he WILL HOTSPOT to all other in his BIG GROUP

My eSIM was using KDDI or Softbank as the telco.. only downside is when you do google search, all the results are from tw/viet because of the origin of the IP address.

Last trip to Osaka in May 2023

have SIMBA 25 dollars for 10gb roaming data and another SIM card from sxmcxrx.sg

SIMBA seems fine for Osaka and Tokyo and it is cheaper even though I use the other one for many years but settings before arrive and arriving got small technical issue

Bytesim, 5Gb only USD$7.50. No issues with connections. Using eSIM as well

I used this for my recent 15 days Kansai trip, the 1GB a day plan for 15 days. Overall was ok-ok lah. First 10 days no issue, but after day 10, had some difficulty getting a signal when Im in some underground stations and far corners of shopping malls.

Just to share some experience on using ICC sim. Bought 3 sets for my mum and her friends to use in swiss, one of them had issues. Cant detect in sim 2 or in other phones.

So i help to whatsapp ICC with order number and faulty sim number photo. 5 mins later send me esim QR code via email and it works well.

It was on a sunday as well.

My Hokkaido trip i used both Airalo and Ubigi. Airalo can't get 5G in most of the places i go to. I only saw 5G a few times. Ubigi was 5G all the way. Airalo and Ubigi not cheap but Ubigi is a bit bit bit bit cheaper than Airalo. For speed wise, i tend to feel Airalo is slower and eats up a lot of data. My 10GB was out on the 8th day out of my 11th day trip. Then i switch to Ubigi and i feel its faster and doesn't eat that much data.

So from now on, i will just stick to Ubigi for my oversea trip.
