Take a break lorh, I usually don't run if my calves are too tight
1st girl ran 10.55 3km, 8.43 2.4km pace
1st guy ran 17.11 5km, 8.14 2.4km pace
Unlikely except maybe the first girl that ran sub 11 min 3kJialat, i think i will be smoked by these girls. They ran in the afternoon heat and i confirm cannot.
My kid very siao on about cycling nowadayss. Not sure if can next time train to be somewhat athletic or not.But his BMI now is 24, so need to slim down a fair bit. But i think is possible coz he can go on longish rides.
track session. 3X1600m with floating 200m jog in between at 4:00/km. Hit 2 of them.
rest for 5 mins (400m walk)
then 4x400m at 1:30 with 200m floating jog. Hit 2 of 4
Tracks are usually busy, unless go early or late. Well maintained tracks usually have a lot of runners. Bukit Gombak track is also good, but gets very crowded in the evenings except on Friday. Last Friday, I managed to run on lane 1 without much issues.Same track I run at every Tuesday. Home of athletics. I think it is one of the more well maintained tracks. Last few weeks I saw which days it was booked for private event (looks like it's national school games). TOday I saw was 7 am onwards so was on track from 5 plus am
My BMI is 27 lol. As I always say I am a fat guy who can run slightly above averageUnlikely except maybe the first girl that ran sub 11 min 3k
The second girl broke the sub 12 min barrier but by 2s. So, can definitely overtake her.
First girl is no joke looking at her PB, 1.5k time is 4.58.97, 3k time is 10.46.33, 5k time is 19.31.80.
Haven't scaled to running the 5k but her current 1.5k/3k beats the last year winner who did a time of 5.00.45 for the 1.5k, 10.50.40 for the 3k. Only losing to her in the 5k where she did 18.44.51.
24 BMI is fine, can't be that bad.
Mile repeats are good for HM. Anywhere above 1k repeats is very helpful. I ran with the club and it made me run 4 x 1200m w/ 3 min rest on Thursday (4.46, 4.38, 4.13, 4.24). Last 2 sets I ran for 1.17km and stopped earlier by 30m since I was running with the other runners.
Since it's an indoor track, it's hard to gauge the times, but the first set might be > 4.00 min/km. The rest were definitely under 4.00 min/km, with a few at high 3.4x min/km.
But I prefer more sets for volume at 10k pace endurance, 8 x 1k (did this last tuesday, goal is to increase to 10 x 1k). Work towards 8 x 1.2k and 6 x 1.6k. Beyond that, if I can get to those, cut the rest times. Anyways, this is a long term thing, will only increase every 3 weeks interval rotation (400-800-1k) to prevent overtraining and injuries. 4 weeks rotation might become a thing with 1.2k or 1.6k.

Today, I will do my run in a non well maintained tracks but at least there's not a lot of people![]()
I don't remember having lockers, I just usually leave my bag where I can see it, not too far from the trackCan I check with you all is there any free locker in stadium where you can put your bag before running ?
Just check with my doc for my blood test, thyroid numbers exceeded, now I am back on carbimazole. This might affect my metabolism, causing some loss of fitness which I am seeing after the difficult flu.
I remember when my hyperthyroidism was at its peak, can't even slow jog for 50m, ran out of breath.
steady leh, bmi above 25 can run so well. respect! My BMI is 27 lol. As I always say I am a fat guy who can run slightly above average
Yeah at 5 am to 6 am easy to use lane 1 even at home of athletics. I also feel track is good for me long term but after race next sunday will focus on complete recovery first.
My friend who stays in the west goes Gombak once a week. He says it is very good. Just a bit too out of the way for me haha. Need somewhere near home or near work lol
take care my friend. take it easy in life and have less stress. hopefully this and consistent moderate exercises will help.Just check with my doc for my blood test, thyroid numbers exceeded, now I am back on carbimazole. Thanks, hyperthyroidism is chronic for me. When the thyroids number are normal by using meds, I can function as per normal with regards to exercise, like do those zone 2 or higher intensity workout. Just that for the last 4 months, the doc and I agree we try to do without meds and see, coz the numbers before 4 months back was good. So it manageable. Please take it easy and get well soon!
If you're still improving, should be fine. And depends on your goals too.My BMI is 27 lol. As I always say I am a fat guy who can run slightly above average

Which mountain you ran at?been awhile since ive been in here!
did a high altitude run recently at around ~3,600m on average. Pace is torturously slow due to lack of oxygen but it was fun.

Issue is quite evident in cycling, cant climb for nuts, eg sentosa. Dont even mention Mount Faber or what. Need to crawl in gear 1. Extra weight quite terok.24 BMI is fine, can't be that bad.
