Last time I thought it was hip pain but then it was not at the bone part but right on top of my fresh meat on top my left butt. I Google search and found out this gluteus medius is the closest part I could describe. I am not sure is there any muscle strain issue there . It doesn't affect my walking but always feel tightness there even I am sitting down.. the moment I ran and landed on my left foot. The pain just shoot up immediately.

I do stretching to target those area but still slack to do more set and right since it had been a long time I suffered it. Because of the firmness of the new shoe. I did not anticipate it.

Acclimitization.. Can work one. Nike Vaporfly 2 and QD强风3TR, both gave me issue in the beginning. Regress them to lower mileages training and slowly rotate them in for higher mileages as I progress. Ran the VP2 for full marathon, and QD can do long run liao.

A lot of injury solution for me is to just keep on running. But regress on the pace and mileage with more consistency. What I mean for consistency is if can run every day, it's better to run slower and a lot lesser mileage every day say 3km or less every day at zone 1 or lower zone2 and this is better than every 3 days run 8km with upper zone 2 or zone 3 pace. Specificity in training is to me the most effective for progression and injury recovery.
I also feel my prime X2 Strung shoe will grow on me 😂. Just need to reduce the pace and the distance once I recovered

Guess can only reduce your mileage and pace first and let it heal and then ease into it and see what happens.
Hope is just some mild overuse problem.

BTW, i just attempted this with no weights. if you can do around 50 reps of this with no resistance, should be pretty strong already. You need to raise to nearly 90 deg and with minimal momentum (it's not a dynamic leg swing lol).
100 reps would be solid level for runners. Nowadays i only train with resistance bands, lowish reps for time efficiency, 1 warm up and 1 set to failure (within 12 reps) or at most 1 rep in reserve.
Standard lah, you can do very high reps, but bloody difficult to know how many RIRs (reps in reserve) so the failure point is too muddy.

I remember when i started to try this in 2023, i could only manage 15-20.

that's fast for a super casual runner, and female some more

6:28 is around my current pace for everyday-ish 6-8km :s22:

Yeah, mid 5s to slightly below 6 mins pace for 5k is quite ok for female.

You can also do it one lah, it's not difficult for your age. Just gotta be consistent and recover properly, build the base, then hoot some intensity into it the usual stuff, be it threshold, vo2max, plus some longer efforts. Nothing fancy nothing new.....consistency and trust the process. Pepper in some strenthening/conditioning.

But she does not seem to be enjoy running. Tough to stay consistent year after year one.
For cycling, 2 days i dont cycle i like i constipation like that. 1 day i can take it.
Ever 2 months or so take a deload week. (eg now in Batam for 4 days, so i cant cycle lol)

i checked and chatgpt said road running is not as healthy.

Anyone do road running instead of running in PCN? I realise running on road can run very far. Like from punggol to changi airport also 20+km. Punggol to woodlands checkpoint also 20km. Punggol to USS also 20km. The thing also is take bus back as during road run I don't like run back the same route

I was a cyclist. Sometimes I felt the carbon monoxide is killing me. So it's definitely not healthy. Haha.

So for jogging I tried to minimise roadside pavement jogging. Will intentionally go to parks pcn for better air quality.

Sometimes I will take mrt home after run. If I do, I will not sit. Don't want to dirty the seat.

she is young and is an active sportsperson with regular basketball training (if my ears didn't play tricks on me in the video). To be able to run at her pace is nothing unusual.

Saw she was wearing SMU singlet, so she is probably around 19 to early 20s. So young. Running at those age was so much easier and effortless.

oh if she already has athletic background then OK rah

cardio is essential for basketball and it incorporates a lot of speed variation throughout both practice and game

one has to keep exercising if not, stamina will go away (subjective from person to person)

worse scenario i know first hand was my secondary school classmate, National C div X-country 3rd, but failed 2.4km in BMT.

I ran on the pavements from my place in Punggol to Harbourfront. Is that consider road running to you?

Anyway I feel there are pros and cons with that and PCN running.

Nevertheless nowadays PCN can lead you to most places..
