just back from KSL trip

the roast meat place "Rong Ji ?" outside KSL was closed today so tried You Ji

You Ji's char siew rice is RM7. Duck rice is RM7.6. The Char Siew is tender, a little sweet & can get jelat if too much. Duck is ok. Service was a little slow.

Prices at Tesco seemed to have risen ... eg) the usual pink Himalayan Salt is RM 3.50 now, up from 3.00 some months back. Maybe no big sale.

Bought a RM2.50 pack of nasi lemak from my fav Malay satay stall at the pasar malam. Worth it. Nice sweet ikan bilis chilli.

It's Duku season. Bought 2kg for RM5 ... in SG it's $2.50 a kg !

Watched Doctor Strange at MBO KSL. Good show, good cinema (Hall 3) ... a little too cold in the beginning. RM 25 for 2 pax.

Got my usual Kopi-C kosong from Kopi Cawanmas. RM2.80. Filled into vacuum flask & savoured while watching movie.

Not much vehicular traffic today but moderate queue clearing Msia immigration. On way back, long q of tour buses & took some time getting to SG Immigration.

Wow! They close so early....

Some of these vendors don't stay in the area, they move around the various pasar malams the whole week. After they've packed their stuff, still need to travel home and next morning prepare the stuff for that night's pasar malam.

Depending on the area, business can start as early as 4pm and if sales is good (like popular food), as early as 8 to 8.30pm already sold out. You know that popular carrot cake at KSL pasar malam, I once saw them already sold out when I passed by about 7.30pm.

If want something, try to get there by 8.30pm. By 9pm, I think a few stalls would have closed already.
