Good is subjective. That BKT won't see my second visit unless a friend die die wants to try.

Hawker Center behind Grand Paragon Hotel - good oyster omelette, BBQ chicken wings, rojak. No dessert stall there (but a small fruit cart), only at the other hawker center on the other side of KSL, across the road after passing the Geylang porridge shop. The rojak here is also not bad.

Yik Foh (something like that) wonton noodles that row, also has good Indian food. Pontian wonton noodles shop has hot dessert, alright too. Oh, Geylang porridge that row has a roast meat shop, quite good also.

Theres a hawker ctr behind grand paragon? Which side? Small road to ksl?

anyone knows where is the new location of Ban Heong beggar chicken?

read from Johor Kaki blog that they're moving
http://johorkaki.blogspot.com/2012/03/beggars-chicken-ban-heong-seng.html

is it a must to call for reservation? any info on the price?
There's a phone number, have you tried contacting them?

One end of the pasar malam is at KSL, the other end at Grand Paragon. When you reach the police post at the Paragon end, just turn into the road on the left and you should be able to see the hawker center on the right a few meters away.

I think can't turn left, as one way street.

Is this the hawker you are talking about? Thank you.

The last time I visited JB was umpteen years back. Now want to bring my children there. Intend to go KSL.

Googled and found that can take bus 950 to JB Sentral and then change BET2. What bus is BET2? Or is there better way to get to KSL (other than taxi)?

Kam sia kam sia.

I've practically stopped catching the JB Sentral buses to KSL ever since they removed the Jalan Wong Ah Fook stops and moved the buses over. It can get quite chaotic at the bus station, especially during peak hours. Switched to Grab Car.

Coming back from KSL on pasar malam nights, probably leave about 7pm latest by 8pm if you want to avoid having to join the long bus and immigration queues, though the CW bus queue at KSL may already have started by then. Not sure how orderly the boarding is these days, as have stopped taking those buses back from KSL to CIQ on Monday evenings for a long while already.

Those buses from JB CIQ to SG run till nearly midnight, so that's not really an issue coming back. It's more like the possibility of missing the bus/train home when you're back in SG, that's when you'll have to grab a cab.

I've never missed a bus back across the causeway (might resort to walking back then :D ) so have not stayed at a hotel near JB CIQ due to missing a bus. However, someone I know have stayed at Citrus Hotel a few times with no complaint so far, just 3 or 4 ladies each time.

With a higher budget, can go for Puteri Pacific or Double Tree by Hilton.

Not that serious especially in the morning. Its only in the evening where everybody is rushing home and many of the buses I hardly seen during the morning started springing up and clocking the terminal. That is really chaotic. I never think it is an issue in the morning or even in the day. Besides, as I had mentioned before, there are many buses that stopped along the main road where Pelangi is located, from here, you can walk to KSL, 5 min. Do a google street walk you will know what I mean. Posted this info there 2x already

I usually starts my round around 4.30pm. make my way from KSL walk all the way to the end near Paragon Hotel is. By the time I make my way back to KSL, everything is opened for business. That saves lots of time. Finishes around 6pm inclusive makan. Last trip in Nov (with my daughter), MY custom empty, but bus queue was long, near to mama stall underneath stairway, but no I took a coach back. there were only 4 of us cool and comfortable, paid RM2/pax. Causeway pack for 35min. all in all, both custom clearing 1 hr. cleared.

however, it is Dec school holiday period, the crowd behaviour is some what different, something I experience last year.

Yes seen those posts, but for those few RM, I'd rather Grab Car and get things done quickly. Will only consider those buses when I've more time in hand (like early morning) or have a group of friends who want to do the bus ride.

JB Sentral bus station is no longer what it used to be, and I don't really feel comfortable there anymore.

And I don't bother to go to that KSL pasar malam unless friends want to, or am staying the night at the hotel. Lack of local feel already, with too many SGeans there.

To each his own. :)

Where do you normally board for Grab Car? How much to KSL? Wanna try taking Grab/Uber to Tebrau or Indah.. It's a hassle to take buses to Indah from JB sentral. :s22:

Used to board at Komtar JBCC where there's a Grab sign by the side, but once went over to JB Sentral across the road as the driver was already there (and also noticed then that the Grab sign disappeared). Recent trip, the driver pointed to me that the sign was back when I alighted at Komtar, so next may go back there as I feel there's lesser traffic than JB Sentral.
