This is not normal. I suggest you clean up or OS. Or do a system restore on a point where everything was running smoothly

Hi, am pretty new to the Y580. You mentioned that there is a m-sata slot bear the HDD. Does that mean we can simply install a m-sata ssd card and still have the stock hdd installed?

yeah, i am also contemplating to order in a 256gb msata ssd for OS+games and softwares while retaining the original 1TB for storage. kind of a waste to trash the blu-ray player...

ya long wait.. or wait till impulse boils over and just hoot.

kinda sad that I'm not able to play Xcom in the highest settings. In fact, not even the mid settings. Had to down resolution by many tiers before the game can run smoothly..

Boot up also super fast! :D

But the touchpad of Y580 still sucks. I might want to get it changed. Very unresponsive. :(

In US , it is about US $1k but in Singapore , the models are
priced at S$1.6-$1.8k .

Is that a norm?

Yes. But msata SSD prices still quite ex locally.

yeah, msata prices are quite exp. Unless you buy from US and ship it in.

i ordered my 256gb msata direct from crucial.com using hopshopgo paypal promotion, and shipping cost me about $5SGD for express shipping

i also ordered my brand new Y580 from the U.S during Black Friday Sales and it took about 3 weeks for it to arrive in SG.

[FHD, 1TB, Blu-Ray Burner, 8GB RAM @ $899USD+99USD (SGD$1264) for 2 yr Depot+Accidental Damage Protection] add another $150SGD for shipping, it is relatively cheaper.

All in i paid about $1400SGD,and using the savings i got i used it to buy the 256GB msata. so all for $1699 or less... i got a maxed out y580. whats left is to see if 8gb ram is suffice for my usage...

Have a few questions here, do any of you guys experience gpu throttling at relatively low temperatures(around 70 degrees celcius) with the y580 gtx660m? and has anyone tried to overclock the gtx660m?
