Lenovo Y580 Users Feedback

Can somebody here tell me, do all FHD Y580 version have mSATA port?
And please tell me what's the product code / number?

Getting a friend to buy Y580 today.. And when he asked the sales person in SLS, they said that Y580 have mSATA port no more because the mSATA causing issue to the notebook.
Can somebody tell me is it correct or not?

it is officially listed as part of Lenovo's specs. But I will still recommend holding off purchasing the mSata until you get the chance to open up the back cover to check the interface as well as the BIOS setting.

So far I have no problem booting up from mSata on my y580 and it is extremely fast, much faster than my desktop, which comes with a SSD as well...

All y580 has a msata port. Its built-in to the motherboard. Only difference is the bios between win7 machines and win8 machines
Win8 machines have the product key burned-in to the bios rather than a key sticker underneath the machine.

Sales man in SLS trying to convince u msata has a problem so u will buy his laptop. Well its half true. Those sets with msata drive included would be 16gb or 33gb drives. Too small for os to boot as its use as a cache drive for the slow hdd.

Just go and buy the y580 then add on ur own msata drve. I recommend 256gg msata. Reinstall os. And bam! Fastest boot up ever.

I bought from crucial.com direct when they were having sales in December . Figured the price of a 128gb here in sg can buy me a 256gb from them.

And guess what damn drive was made in singapore!

it could be a internal cable or panel issue. Send it back to check or ask for an exchange

currently running nvidia's 310.70 with no problems so you maybe try that driver. If got problem then definitely not driver issue le

The word/character also appear to be 'broken' or low res.

Sometime the color also change to blueish:

When i flip the screen (open n close), the color will change... Guess is the cable or screen problem. Will arrange for repair.

I have an ssd inside, do i need to chg back to the original HDD? Any experience?

Do they collect or we need to send to the mega1ink at bkt timah?

heard from bros here best to change to original HDD so they got no chance to deny you service based on void warranty. My warranty is a onsite, dunno about yours wor.
