To those using the impedance adapter, why is my phone unable to go to high impedance mode if I connect it through
Short 3.5mm extension cable -> Impedance adapter -> IEM
However when I connect
Impedance adapter -> short 3.5mm extension cable -> IEM ,
then will I be able to go into high impedance mode.
I wanted to connect through the first method as the impedance adapter sticks out quite alot from the jack and using the short 3.5mm extension cable first can help eliminate this issue, as I can bend the short cable.
Am I doing it wrong? How should I connect it? Or I have to live with the protruding impedance adapter?
PS: For the first method, I have tried connecting the 3 together first then plugging it into the headphone jack but still unable to make it to high impedance mode.
For the second method, the moment I plug the impedance adapter first, it automatically goes into high impedance mode, so no issue regardless of the order I insert into the jack.
However , regardless of my previous reply , I hate to tell and confirm to you , it would not work , helps to kicks in the high impedance gain mode IF you're using the cables type of 3.5 extender like the one shown in the pictures below .
The most you can get the the most out with these 3.5 cables extender is AUX mode .
It brings out a output of 25% gain power if I remember correctly what the folks at XDA has concluded with in regards of AUX mode , compared with 50% output gain power in high impedance mode .
From what I had been experiencing from my highly capable 41ohms iem , both mode Aux / high gain are able to push out adequate amount of output to my iem ,
Not only In terms of a noticeable higher volume level , but to a greater listening overall experience , it's really a night and day Huge difference compared to the ridicule low gain normal mode .
So in short , with the exception of the ridicule normal mode , both the AUX mode , high impedance mode are more than enough adequate used for IEM/headphone with the impedance of below 50ohms .
The short right L angle 3.5 adapter also works either in 2 pole or 3 pole .
I still yet to do a direct 1-1 comparison with the 2 impedance adapter of 75ohms , 150 ohms i had at hand , whether or not it does makes any further differences in terms of gain output From the V20 headphone amp sensor . But the words from the XDA folks said that it is of no difference whether you're using a 75 ohms 300 ohms or 600 ohms to trick the V20 sensor .
But somehow I'm still not yet quite convinced on that , mainly because maybe the one whom do the testing doesn't have a number different of ohms adapter to do the comparison ?
Apparently the headphone jack sensor on the V20 does continued to adjust control the sound even though if the device is on high impedance mode , which is shown in screen at HI-FI Quad dac and stated that " sound is automatically adjusted for connected audio device with a high impedance of 50-600 ohms "
???
I don't for one doesn't quite catch the ball what it is trying to say or exactly refer to ???
Any thing which i noticed is , when I use a 2 pole 3.5 extender to kick the high impedance mode , the V20 sensor initially adjust the volume at 40 , while using the 3 pole extender the V20 adjust the volume at 50 .
I will do a direct 1-1 comparison with both the 75ohms , 150ohms to determine whether it's of any differences .
