Yes, I would say LG this year line up is thumb up (both in terms of specs, design, function! Last year 2011 models was much disappointing except for the Passive FPR 3D technology.

And its true, Pana and Sony has bought the FPR technology license from LG. We will see more FPR 3D soon in the market.

There is absolutely no harm in comparing local and US prices. It basically shows how much the local dealers/distributors are scalping the local consumers.

Local electronic distributors in general get an extra 20-25% profit :eek:

We need to start questioning them why there is such a discrepancy in pricing. If there is no pressure on their end, they will continue with this practice. Call/Email/Facebook them and attack them from all modes of communication. No harm in trying instead of just doing nothing and being passive about it.

You can go ahead and do that and I am happy if you are successful, just elsewhere. This is not the place to whine about the status quo.

just making aware about the price diff from same company and same brand (of course diff region) is not realistic huh? as i mentioned earlier i just posted the info to whom it may need(realistic) and i cannot (did not) say for everyone

Saw Courts advertisement yesterday for 55LM6700 which was going for $3799 with free 250GB DVD Recorder and football subscription. But the new panasonic THL55ET5S was going for $200 cheaper at $3599 with same freebies. It is also a passive 3D panel and apparently the glasses from LG can be used on this new Panasonic.

Seems like LG is not the cheapest (referring to Recommended Retail Price) in the market for passive 3D. Wait for next week's PC Show to see which is cheaper before making a decision.

Wonder how much Megadiscount is selling this new Panasonic 3D TV.

Panasonic ET5 series uses LG FPR flim for their passive 3D. Panny's and LG's glasses are interchangeable for use on their passive 3D TVs as the FPR Flim came from LG. Other brands like Sony, Sharp will also use LG FPR Flim for their passive 3D model. So good news is, more models and brands to choose from the market soon.:D

For my personal opinion ,
If no much price and spec differance,
Japanese brand is more realible :)
