i dun think other brands have started with DVB-T2 since its not a world wide standard~ :(

Yeah, doubt there's any brand that supports DVB-T2.

Anyway, with the way the DVB-T implementation in SG went, I believe it T2 will probably end up the same - providers already invested in their own infrastructure for content delivery - unless there's real money to be made, everything will proceed at a snail pace.... until T3 comes along and T2 plans gets shelved... again?

Btw, for those contemplating making use of DVB-T, note that signal reception is probably very bad (or zero?) in most parts of Singapore.

Saw Courts advertisement yesterday for 55LM6700 which was going for $3799 with free 250GB DVD Recorder and football subscription. But the new panasonic THL55ET5S was going for $200 cheaper at $3599 with same freebies. It is also a passive 3D panel and apparently the glasses from LG can be used on this new Panasonic.

Seems like LG is not the cheapest (referring to Recommended Retail Price) in the market for passive 3D. Wait for next week's PC Show to see which is cheaper before making a decision.

Wonder how much Megadiscount is selling this new Panasonic 3D TV.

Saw Panasonic's THL55ET5S selling for $3199 at Expo over the weekend, with free delivery and 3 yrs warranty, not sure about other freebies.

yah guys..

gd point...

think e future proofing thing will only be meaningful if the media authority r serious about it.

no $$ to b make... so after a wham-bang broadcast on the DVB-T2 trial.. we r left w a whimper...

so typical of these agencies... even the DVB-T standards is not widely implemented and the so called "HD" channels...goodness..:s8:

Yes, sad to say that I myself make an empty trip there as I intend to get 47" LM6700 too, disappointed.
Anyway I already got a set from Mega Discount by calling them, delivery is next Sat. Price quite good and with $300 choice vouchers. :) , sorry can't disclose price here.

Think this is LG strategy by offering vouchers and save the cost of exhibition booth.

no trade-in require, is standard free gift on top of the usual free gifts like glasses, motion remote etc.

if I'm not wrong, this model only 2 of them carries, Courts and Mega. Manufacturers try to minimise price war by giving certain models to certain dealers, same as Samsung and some others, so if sell too low may result being question i think.

Hi, finally got my new 55LM6700 delivered and installed today. A little disappointed at first with its PQ because my previous TV is a 50" Hitachi Plasma. Suddenly not use to it, losing the smoothness of Plasma. Anyway, the appearance of he TV is really very appealing, it looks really stunning in my living room. After calibrating with my WOW Disney calibration discs, the PQ is now much better and acceptable.

Bought this set from Mega two days ago with trade-in of old tv promotion for a $500 voucher. Ultimately, after deducting $500, the price of ths model is just less than 3k.

May I know how is the calibration being carried out?
Where to get the disc?
Are there many types of calibration disc?

Thanks

Just placed order for 55LM6700 at Courts Megastore for $3599 instead of the advertised $3799. Paid via credit card.

Standard LG stuff plus HDMI cable/$10 MacDonalds voucher/Euro 2012 subscription/LG 250GB DVD recorder/$500 Choice voucher (no trade-in).

Tested a couple of 1080p MKVs and seems to able to decode everything except for one which was on Profile High@L4.1 / 4 frames.

The same problem file played fine on the Panny ET5S series though.

As I already have a dedicated media player, decided to get the LG because its cheaper (after vouchers), magic remote and WiDi features

Also, the sales rep mentioned that the 3D glasses from Panasonic are more comfortable than LG's. Cost about $20 for a pair i think.

Just got my 55LM6700 from Mega Discount Store at $3349.
Payment by credit card. But only come with standard freebies.
I.e. magic remote and 4 pairs of glasses.
Trade in any tv for $500 Choice voucher.

One thing that I'm really pleased with the tv is that it supports Xinmsn Catch-up TV.
Have tested quite a few and this is the only one that has proven to be working.
