I got it from North Point Hvy Norman! u mean yours at the back written as Made in Malaysia?

nope. they won't write made in Malaysia. they will write made by lg or made in Korea. only first batch of stock will be made in Korea and all stock are delivered by lg themselves. think it will be best to check if yours is a display or refurbish set or not. if not you are really lucky to get a old stock. by the way bro, how much did you get it for and what the freebies?

Yes, it is indicate by "make by lg" or make in Korea". Not all model follow the same rule for example, 6690 is so far make in Korea even for the new stock.

About the delivery, it depend of which store you purchase from. Example: it come directly from Court warehouse if purchase from Court. Make sure you check the packing is without double seal when arriving at your house and before the package is open. Ask for return if package is double seal with transparent tape! So shop like to sell display set especially those from the road show. Nothing wrong with that, but you should be expecting a better discount for a display set.

LG 47W 5700

Just to let you guys know,i bought a 47 inch LG 47W5700 in Sept 2011 and bought a 5 years warranty with it. Recently I wanted to use the browser and I could not connect. Called LG and they sent a technician who said the Wifi dongle is not working and need to replace and pay SGD85 for that.
What use is it to buy the warranty when have to pay for an accessory provided by LG themselves. The technician also told us that it is better to remove the dongle if you are not using it. No one told us this when we were buying the TV and also the installer or the person who was teaching us at a course organised by LG to use the TV well.
All my LG products have had issues sooner or later. I suggest if your budget allows go for any other better brand. Design and price wise LG may be cheap but in the long run not sure.

Yes, some shop do double seal with transparent tape. So look carefully and making sure there is no 2 layer of tape. (ie box not open before and seal again).

For 5700, I think the wireless dongle is throw in free gift. So is not under warranty as part of the TV.

LG seem good for me. If you always get trouble with the product, may be you want to check your useage and setup?

Nowadays especially electronics, they are made to fail at 3-5yrs old.
Gone are the days when your Sony tv can lasts 20yrs.

I bought a LG bcos it 's cheap and good(features) and not expecting it will last me for the nx 10 yrs. if spoilt, just throw, heart no pain.

Register online.. no need to post the warranty card.. SVC centre is at alexandra road..

The only bugbear is that there's no on site service inclusive.. gotta pay extra for that :(

my warranty card is from Singapore, just bought from HN.

perhaps you can clarify with LG or Court, so that we know what to look out for in future when buying from Court.

agree absolutely! my philips flat panel ctv lasted 8 years and still working, only failed once and cost $50 to repair. nowaday you can't repair LCD TV cheaply anymore. If it can last for 3 years consider lucky so better to have 2 than spending so much on one TV. Afterall new models are coming out so fast and soon the OLED TV will hit the market, by then all the current generation of LED LCD TV will be obsoleted!

I think you misunderstood. There is 36 months warranty but their on site service is optional. You'll have to pay $139 for them to come down.

I emailed them and still waiting for their reply.

I could register the set on the Internet no problem but it still doesn't feel right they are selling Malaysia sets in Singapore

Wah is this a normal practice now?

UPDATE: ok courts replied, they will send the singapore warranty card by mail to me.

also i went to LG service center to take my free gifts, so i took this opportunity to ask them about this. They said just register online for the warranty.

no need the warranty card at all, just keep the invoice will do.

it's pointless now even courts give me the warranty card.

so there, case closed.

I don't think so. The technician came to my house twice (very small issue) and I pay them nothing.
