Followed up with the technician. Was told the panel replacement will be at S$963 inclusive of GST.

I don't really mind paying that up if he even bothered to check the TV. I told him this earlier and he said "no need to open the TV. not necessary. confirmed due to user error". I quizzed him about the other similar cases and he wouldn't comment at all. Told that "yesterday, you were 100% sure that the LCD won't crack on its own. And now you're not gonna comment?", he just said "I will never be wrong".

Really pissed. Worst case is that I'll probably pay up still and just sell the damned thing.

LG = Never again.

actually there's nothing much to see inside... I have mine changed the motherboard which you can see I posted 2 or 3 pages back that my tv cannot turn on at all.

The TV is so simple that it can sell from $2500+ down to $1600+ within 6 months.
Basically it is just a panel with 1 motherboard and 1 powerboard, only 3 items in a TV
But that's not only for LG, others also the same in order to make it slimline.

Anyway, after motherboard replaced, problem is still not solved as the replacement stocks for motherboard is a wrong region type which there's no Premium apps like Kpop/ Youtube/ Facebook etc. So have to tentatively watch it till next correct region stock arrive.:s27:

After I nagged them, LG said that their Customer Service will contact me (soon?) and will arrange for an Engineer to check and verify the cause of the issue.

That's welcome news for me.

Great. Keep us updated. If they are good, i will put LG back to my radar screen while searching for a new TV. Else, i think i will go for Sony, Panny or Sharp.

I also like 6690 but no 55. In the end settled for 6410 and managed to get a bargain for magic remote. Yea.
$300 more for 6700 not worth for cosmetics only.

Price you pay is more or less for the technology especially if you get it new when it first came out. Compare wit iPhone and TV with large panel, which one you think is more value for money?

On paper, specification is the same. You pay for the magic remote on 6690 anyway.

of course the similarity they show.but the difference.they dont. eg.brightness in nits.cosmetic wise, 6410 frame looks dull

That is because additional glass panel layer that 6410 does not have. So it depend on yor need and where you put your TV as the glass layer make it more reflective.

I also on LM6410, in paper it is not bad. But yesterday when checked it at Courts, the sales recommend Philips 42 6007 which is claimed with dual-core processor and better on image quality, and internet browsing is better which support quite some internet media website, such as Fushion 风行(which is very famous for movie and drama in china).

My consideration

1. TV SD image must be good, mostly viewed everyday (heard that LM6410 not so good in some review, how about yours)
2. Internet function must strong, support as much function as possible, as now more and more content can be found by internet. This would be more and more, eventually into kind of Internet TV.
3. 3D is least priority. But since internet is there and more 3D content can be found, it is good to have if want TV last for more than 3 years.

How do you lm6410 perform, especially Web browsing? can you try to view Fushion?

Thanks a lot.

I just bought my 42LM6410 few days back. Yet to setup. To me, the point it attracts me is the interface of the apps and the price plus functionality.

Paid 880 + 150 at harvey norman funan.

Will setup next week when my TV console arrives. Color wise, the sales person tried to promote Panasonic one to me. But I keep going back either to LG or Sony EX650.

Pansonic the panel color wise looks pretty dull comparing to LG or Sony.

Congrade,
I agree LM6410 is a balance with function and cost.

Just want to know whether internet browsing experience and whether able to view media like tablet. Appreciated any feedback.
