Yes bro. I understand not everyone have problem but a lot of ppl has problem. If it is 100% then m1 would have close shop. Hence I agree some ppl will have ultimate customer satisfaction like what you have which is really good
But airplane mode? 😆! Nice thing about m1 is their joker clients still feel their internet is doing well despite not doing well.
when I was with m1, my internet was showing 5 bar but when you starts surfing www.hardwarezone.com, the page just never load inside mrt. Not sure why. Don’t understand why either. 😆! If you don’t surf, it looks like working perfectly

No idea about what Airplane mode you're talking about. Never had such issues before. yes, in some locations with poor reception for the main 3 traffic light telcos, web pages do not load and this applies for ALL telcos (the 'best' RED and StarHub) included, which I personally experienced within the past 12 months (all SIM Only plans are direct MNO Telco SIM Only plans not MVNOs).

During M1 days when using Waze or Google Map, the instructions from the apps always gave wrong directions. Many times, the instruction given made me turn in circles. Then I realised its the M1 intermittent network that was disturbing my hp GPS. Ported to red and green camp, no such issues anymore.

personally I feel that as long as you are happy and open to other mno, then ok liao

I have SingTel (Vivifi), StarHub and M1. All 3 give me some form of airplane mode with M1 being the most frequent.

Airplane mode meaning we have to put the phone on airplane mode to disconnect from all wireless connection (in this case the MNO network connection), so that new connection can provide data. We do this when we cannot load websites or app.

There isn’t a need to put others down because they use a telco that you don’t like.

In Singapore, we have a freedom of choice to choose which MNO or MNVO we like to use.

your behavior has no place in this forum

i was told by a starhub salesman as M1/SingTel/StarHub direct subscribers will have more coverage and better speeds. He advised to subscribe to them directly rather than their sub brands like Giga and others.
From HW zone posts' comments, I guess that MNO set some network traffic priorities and it caused slower data speed compared to main MNOs. Coverage wise would be same right? I don't think that MNO will set some access points towers allow to only MNO users and MVNO subscribers are not allow to access (with lesser coverages).
Is it correct? Any comments on these coverages and data speeds on MNOs vs MVNOs? Thanks

If you're talking about 5G specifically, based on my experience on StarHub 5GNR NSA and M1 5GNR SA, it seems to be true in some sense.

StarHub and M1 share the infrastructure for NR SA. However, NSA is separate, StarHub have while M1 don't have.

I've seen multiple places where M1 5GNR SA have signal (strong one) despite it being on much higher frequency (n77/n78), while StarHub 5GNR NSA don't even have any 5G signal on Band n1.

Higher frequency = shorter wavelength = smaller coverage area & more prone to signal blockage esp indoors, assuming same output power.

The coverage was last compared in July 2022.

So assuming you're StarHub 5G customer with 5G SIM, it seems to be true that coverage is much better than Giga 5G.
The speed is most likely to be at least the same, but typically faster, as a result of the NR SA network, as well.
(M1 5GNR SA typical download speeds is 300-700Mbps during my test, compared to 50-200Mbps on StarHub 5GNR NSA)

Do note that I didn't test SingTel 5G (and GOMO 5G), so I can't cfm whether it's the same on the red side.

so, you mean MNOs coverage are much better than MVNOs....even for 4G, Starhub/M1 direct is better coverage and speed than Giga/CL/MR subscribers? Thanks

No comments for LTE coverage.
I would only say it's likely network priority is higher so in places with severe network congestion, MVNO might lose out if the agreement dictated so.

Not all MVNOs pay lesser for lower priority, that's why plans might not be that cheap for some of them.

Since most telco are concentrating on 5GSA, are they still investing to expand installation of 4GLTE Access points ? or just doing maintenance mode now? I think 3G and 4G are still continuing for another 5 more years at least as globally 5G is still picking up stages...

M1 SIM Only recontract?

Maybe u can contact M1 when "recontract", ask them if possible to give the free 3 months M1 5Go Plus. It's no contract, so if it doesn't work out, you can always unsubscribe.

This is the beauty for M1 5G, there's no tied in contract and you get to enjoy Standalone Access 5G, unlike SingTel Prepaid / GOMO Non-SA 5G.

They would say coverage for LTE already exceed the requirements set by IMDA, no reason to improve except for new buildings and estates.

For 3G, requirements set by IMDA has been reduced for StarHub and M1, so even less reason to improve.

Surprisingly some china tablet can get volte and vowifi on m1 while some export set (realme) mobile phone cannot during testing using the same sim card.
This is just unfair

It could be because they bypass the carrier checks and just blindly enable it. ;) That's what happens in Xiaomi phones when you key in the *#*#volte#*#* sequence at the dialler.

Rightfully, the provider and manufacturer must provision profiles with the parameters defined, and the phone is supposed to check every time. If either the phone or the provider does not have the necessary profile data, the service will not be enabled.

For example. in the case of Google, the Pixel 4 has VoLTE support, but not many of their other Pixel phones. Or with SIMBA/TPG, where many phones lack the volte profile.

Celcom and digi merger already, is one business entity.

But m1 website very confusing dunno is deliberately one or just that there are different people maintaining different sections of the website without communication one the info all over the place and disjointed.

Need to go a few rounds then get to this page.

I think they don't really care for the website anymore, its just for show and tell.

Does anyone plan comes with free caller ID?

It's confusing because it says free on the online ad but not free on the website and when you try to sign up.

Singtel have this problem too, and YouTube lag while on MRT. Certain area got what you said airplane mode.

If signing up the M1 80GB/$17.95 with 5G Plus add on, you can have 6 months caller ID free if port in.
