S$800 for a wireless router!? Insane…

Looks ugly.

I thought my Synology RT6600 is already too much at HK$2400.

whoa, the Mac mini M4 feels....almost the same as my M1 Mac mini 16gb.
maybe slightly faster, a mili sec kind of faster.

The M1 Mac still a beast

guess depend on what kind of stuff you do on your machine. if just browsing, watching video, simple office stuff...don't think u will see huge difference.

only explanation is that ur use case does not even utilise any power beyond m1 chip only.
M1 is a very good chip even today. There is no need to upgrade if one is still fine with the performance. Get the m4 only if you r a new user or m1 is not powerful enough for you now.

For general web browsing activities, even the 2018 intel mac is still fast enough today.

I bought M4 Mac Mini coz got it for damn cheap. Student price then plus shopback/maribank cashback of $54.
So the total cost is like $645 or something.

Maybe slightly off topic, but is it possible to build a time machine backup in a folder inside an existing exFAT external hard disk? My M4 MBP has only 512gb storage so external hard disk is important.
