Placed order on 9 Dec, got it on 17 Dec.
My specs is M4 Mac mini with 24GB ram and 512GB SSD.
So far I max 17GB ram usage.
It has been a breeze since my late 2018 27" iMac.

If pickup all stores available. If deliver need to wait till 8 Jan.
That is for the base spec.
If you add on things like 10gbps port and etc, the delivery and pick up all push back

This one has the added factor of personal worth of convenience and expectations.

cause is like do you like the external attachment, are you ok with the speed…

Much more subjective.

Do u need so much disk space? I got the based model. Still got a lot of disk space left as i use an external ssd to store my personal data. I can use the ssd with my laptop too.

No NAS yet. been forever eyeing synology. Wait this year refresh see got what.

still I think 512 is minimum.
Then that’s your own situation ma.

I’m talking about the scenario of a person having a NAS don’t need such big capacity

Don’t even have any external storage at the moment.
Gonna use it to do work email, surfing and shopping.
also leeching my wife’s cloud storage.
So definitely more than enough storage for me haha

I got the base 256gb storage M4 mac Mini,
to me, it is not worth it to spend 300 more for just an additional 256gb storage, since i got mine at student price of $699 plus some shop back cash back of $50 plus.

The 300 bucks is practically half the price of the mac mini M4 to me and it can easily get 1TB or more external storage.

Logically, no. In the PC world context, I got a good 4TB PCI-E 4.0 NVME SSD for below 350 bucks. So for Apple to ask for 300 bucks to give us an additional 256GB is ludicrous. Unless you are going to bring this Mac Mini out all the time, I strongly suggest sticking to base model and connect a 2TB SSD to one of the Thunderbolt port instead.

If you are talking about something like a Macbook Air, then I think no choice, you may have to increase the storage since there is no other way to expand it without having to lug an additional device along.
