MBA has many different configurations, a maxed out MBA can outperform an entry level MBP. so its not really convincing of what the senior says.

Do find out the exact usage and what does she mean by not enough?

This macbook pro is for polytechnic course, video editing is required..
Cant decide between the below options.
Are the 13 inch MacBook pro specs powerful enough? i5 vs i7?

If the i5 is powerful enough, between options 1 and 2, I was thinking that RAM is more important as I can always buy external storage. Correct?

Option 3 seems like a better choice if i7 is recommended and option 4 is overkill.

I emailed the lecturer, he said MBA enough for first year but better get a MBP as 2nd n 3rd going to need more processing power

a lecturer might not know the products well. ultimately its the apps she need to determine if the machine is adequate..

if you have the budget for it, why not?

else you have to measure in realistic terms,e,g how much are you willing to pay for your kid's 3D video clip to be rendered in 2 hours instead of 5 and how often does he/she need to do this?

for school work, i'm hard pressed to think of any module which requires so much power that it is beyond a MBA.

Depending on what you expect from an OS, a Mac can have its advantages

Yes, I have went down to QCD before to replace my 2015 MBP 13 inch screen last year.

I actually sent an email to QCD to check if my macbook's serial number is eligible for the quality programme before heading down for the replacement of the screen. It took about 4 working days before I was able to get my MBP back.

hi guys i noticed recently when i watch videos, for example on youtube, there will be like flashes of flicking bright lights.... to make it go away, i just have to max screen and then go back to normal screen, or if im at max screen i just need to escape to normal screen and then go back to max screen again...

what could be the problem...?

Nope, there is no need to. You do not need to provide them with the password to log in into MacOS. If you are paranoid, I guess you can clean wipe the data prior to sending it in.

I went A.labs PS and the person told me to add my pw (i didnt add pw cause i was lazy). told me they will not access my files at all, but reminded me to backup....

just make sure u backup. if u have sensitive data just enable FileVault...
