Noob question about Mac Office 2008

Does formatting (tables and alignment) of a MS Office document mess up in Mac Office? I'm concern becos for my work involved a lot of formatting of Word and Excel document. I know PDF is a better format but my colleagues don't use

PDF isn't editable. It's meant to be digital-portable. Ie, what it appears in print form, only digitally.

You can't exactly compare the 2. As for MS Office for the Mac and MS Office for Windows, somehow Microsoft chose to intentionally make the alignments incompatible. Somehow.

I'm not comparing Office and Adobe Acrobat. I also know PDF cannot edit, lol. Actually what I meant was my colleagues could have used PDF format to distribute final copies of documents to avoid formatting issue. In fact formatting problem also exists in different Office versions. Has always been a huge headache

A sad fact about the alignment part. Which means in order to make my job easier, Mac virtualisation seems the only way. Going straight to Boot Camp kinda defeats the purpose of switching to Mac

I do have MS Office 2007 installed in my VMWare partition in case of emergency. I've not had to boot VMWare up before, though.

i do work on windows and mac os simultaneously on the same document.

tool controls a bit different, the proofing tools may give slightly different results.

but in terms of outlook, both are similar.

pls do giv it a try, because everyone's document settings varies.

Haha. That's exactly why I asked here. Always wanted to give it a try, but apprehensive of the formatting issues.

yahoo has email forwarding, i tried to find in hotmail seems like dun haf.

copy is cmd+c, paste is cmd+v. i've customized it to ctrl+c and ctrl+v on my mac ^.^

can use imail... or any other software as long as u configure the pop mail settings.

They are two different machines. iMac will be good enough for most home users.

my macbook has been sporadically shutting down by itself without warning lately. any idea what's going on? starting to get pretty frustrating.
