Any places to recommend too look for macbook classic 13" sleeves?
Have looked at Epi and Nubox... doesn't seem to have a great range.
Preferably, one that can hold a macbook 13'' and a iPad snuggly as well.

You'll need the CD that comes with the Mac, or make use of a OS X Recovery assistant/Built in Recovery HD.

Any idea where can I get to diagnose my sis' water damaged late 2011 MBP ?

It's dried but cant seems to power on even with adaptor. Battery indicator blinks for a short while and dies off. No boot screen, chime or whatsoever.

bring to eServ at 313 Orchard or Wheelock, but chances are the logic board needs to be replaced and that will cost almost as much as a new computer. AppleCare Protection Plan won't cover liquid damage.

2009 mid 13inch 2.23ghz version. 2gb
ram and slow 160gb. Hw much would it
cost to upgrade to 4gb or 8gb? Price of
320 or 500 hdd? Speed 5200rpm is fine.

I understand that the logic board cost as much as a brand new Macbook Pro, but do they charge to diagnose ?

If they dont charge, i might let them diagnose and see which component is faulty. :/

as long got liquid damage , you have to pay for the diagnostic fee of $120 + 7% GST

I dont think any component on the board can be changed. The fan can be changed.

The technician has no means to isolate which component is faulty as this is done at factory level.

Therefore which ever component is faulty, they will change the whole board.

Is there a difference between them? Both are 3 pin plugs as far as I can see... Only thing that I can see that is difference is the plughead is nearer to the source while the additional cable gives some extra length.

longer cable has more grounding compared to the plughead itself.

Consider formatting your HDD to ExFAT.

ExFAT is readable/writable by Windows/Mac/Linux

Hey guys!

So excited! Finally ditched my PC and bought a new imac 27" Fusion drive.

So far so good, usual habits need to kick when changing over.

But I have this irritating issue. I updated my safari to 6.0.5, and to my horror one day when I turn on my machine again. All my tabs were gone! I remembered there's an option to "reopen tabs when start"? I tried to google around but their best solution is from history tab, "Reopen all windows from last session".

Weird thing is, I can't even select this option while testing opening and closing, restarting mac and such. That option is just blanked out.

Okay, so I thought its a Safari problem. I downloaded Chrome and use it. To my disappointment, it also refuse to reopen my last sessions tabs!

Google chrome has this extension to help me manually save all my tabs. Thing is, this process is "automated" in PC, not sure why this is happening.

Any insights? I tried to go to system pref, but couldn't find anything. Help!

edit: another thing which is weird. I know imac when start up will have this Chime sound, to signify the processor has "started". Search around google, it says chime has its own uses. However, I would seriously very much like to mute it if possible. Startninja doesn't work..

To do it automatically (in Mountain Lion), you would have to go to System Preferences > General and make sure "Close windows when quitting an application" is unchecked. Keep in mind that this will affect other programs too.

This also do not work, but so many users can use this method! vexing!
