yeap becoz u believed i will robbed him when i tell him where to go
butt than again u r the ONE who claimed sure can get cheap replacement parts in simlimsquare where i hang ard for kopi

dun put words in my mouth. I listed the example is a fact because I bought it myself and not claim, not guess, not aga.

and I only listed for 1 part where my main point was to bring up the cost of the part is much lower than what people expect and that a large amount goes towards the servicing which is the fact.

i didn't say it is the same for every single parts.

now whether 1 is willing to pay for it is another issue.

anyway, don't bother to reply me. you help in your way, I help in my way.

lets the users of the forum decide on their best course of action.

strange, i google online and it seemed that it come with sata interface. i remember correctly that it is a ide interface.

may need to check serial number tonight to confirm if it's sata or ide or if its an older model.

are you talking about adding a 2nd HDD or just upgrading your main HDD?

if just upgrading main, it is a SATA drive. if adding a 2nd HDD, have to remove superdrive and buy HDD enclosures to replace in that slot, that one should be SATA connection too.

Got a question for parallels users, if I allocate 2GB of ram to the VM, and then another 256mb to video memory, total ram taken up is 2.25gb or 2gb(256mb taken from the 2gb pool)?

Also, is 256mb video memory enough for 1080p playback(MPC w/DXVA) or should I give 512mb?

Typically how long you guys use your macbook before changing the battery to prevent the swelling battery from affecting the mousepad? Thanks.

Most can last 2-3 years if used daily. The trick is to charge as often as you can. Depleting the battery before each charge will affect the battery lifespan.

i would recommend HDMI output, as u can connect it to LCD or projectors as well and not much settings to meddle with.

DVI quite limited in application.

okie, so u have 4 options

1) buy output to DVI

2) buy output to HDMI, then buy HDMI to DVI cable. HDMI to DVI is just connector different, no change to signal type. but this option have to pay more.

3) buy new monitor, :D

4) go deal extreme buy the output to HDMI, DVI, VGA adapter, more bulky though

Dear all bro and sis,

Hello! This is the first time I've had a major Problem with my notebook, I hope somebody can help me.

My MacBook White 5.2 (mid 2009) with OS X Mavericks. Upon power on the computer, the sleep indicator light will flash rapidly, followed by a long beeping sound (approx 2 secs) before booting up normally. This is kinda frustrating and worrying

Has anyone had the same issue before? Please kindly offer your advice on this issue.

From What do all those "beeps mean at start up?

Products introduced after October, 1999 use a revised set of power on self-test beeps during startup.

The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).

If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below.

If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.

1 beep = no RAM installed

2 beeps = incompatible RAM types

3 beeps = no good banks

4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)

5 beeps = processor is not usable

In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.

Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.
