yes. cos torrents will keep writing to storage while it's downloading.
high number of writes are no good for memory chips, that's why use an external mechanical drive if you are torrenting.

hmm does that means if i listen to music or watching movies it is also no good?
must use those normal HDD like 7200rpm those type then is better huh?

wrong.

listening to music + watching movies --> reading from storage.
torrenting (when downloading) --> writing in small chunks to storage.

SSDs (or more correctly, memory chips) have a limit in the number of writes, after which they start to fail.
See memory wear. :)

How long can it last ? The web put 9 hours really?

Number of hours depends on usage pattern.

On note 4 from Apple's site:
Testing conducted by Apple in October 2013 using preproduction 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7–based 15-inch MacBook Pro units, preproduction 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7–based 15-inch MacBook Pro units and preproduction 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5–based 13-inch MacBook Pro units. The wireless web test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing 25 popular websites with display brightness set to 12 clicks from the bottom, or 75 per cent. The HD movie playback test measures battery life by playing back HD 720p content with display brightness set to 12 clicks from the bottom, or 75 per cent. The standby test measures battery life by allowing a system, connected to a wireless network, to enter standby mode with Safari and Mail applications launched and all system settings left at default. Battery life varies by use and configuration. See Apple - Batteries for more information.

No one can tell you how long it will last, as every process / usage pattern is different.

I can only say Haswell has improved on power usage, and I do see 9 ~ 10+ hours of power on my wife's 13" rMBP. No photo editing, just plain web surfing and working on office docs.

Hi, does anyone know of/using good docks for Macbook Pro Retina? Or share any thoughts about using a dock at home?

a.lab (PS)

personal experience last week was fantastic. they know my applecare gonna end, then they initiate a thorough check without me asking. collected it a with a new battery as well though i did not request for it. but waiting time is long.

i had the same problem as yours, probably graphic cards got problem, they will change your logic board.

Duplicate music files

Using Mavericks here..

How come there is another set of music files under /Users/MyName/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media>Music
Wont that mean that there will be 2x more space acquired?
