3 years old Mac. 700 run cycles out of 1000 for the battery

My battery life shortened to less than 2hrs after upgrade. Called Apple they said nothing to do with Big Sur just happened to need to change battery. Not really convinced, how can be so coincidental?

is your battery throwing warning sign like "battery servicing"?

mine is MBP late 2013, i replaced battery last month, try to last it for 2 more years until mbp silicon is stabilized. so far so good after upgraded to big sur.

I think steam cannot run in big sur is it... my games cannot run at all. Mac mini 2014.

the biggest drawback in big sur, its new widget design:

1. it disallows interaction in widget, so those calculator widgets are all completely useless or less functional.

2. widget can't refresh data by itself, macOS decides when to refresh, it causes problem for them widgets that need to pull data regularly such as Currency widget.

maybe will be fixed in the next update

People kept forgetting that when they upgrade their OS, there will be indexing of your system running in the background which takes up your battery if not plugged in.

Gives it a few more days, the battery issue should go away. If not check your hardware

Yes e battery servicing message is now there. Previously it wasn't

not much apps available for now even safari extension like Adblock needs rosetta to run.
chrome, vlc all not ready yet

Updated on my Late 2013 MBP, run perfectly fine and honestly, even much better and smoother than Catalina
