hi guys , when is the applicate date for the march BTO? HDB website still havent state yet.

if follow trend march bto will only start after 1st week. So expect it to be out mid march :)

Bedok is quite good but notice that the location if you go down to see is actually the empty plot of land behind 2 existing hdb there. And there is one bus stop directly which has only one feeder bus to the bus interchange.

Its peaceful and quiet neighbourhood walkable distance to the interchange/mrt if you dont mind. but expect church bells ringing in the mornings on weekend mass. :D

points to note is bedok interchange will be superbly crowded as usual in the morning rush hour. Its only near PIE if you're driving to work, and usually you'll get stuck at the Eunos - Paya Lebar stretch if you use KPE to get to City.

Apart from that its a good location. Imo, the best locations would be Bukit Batok > Bukit Panjang > Geylang > Bedok. Based on when all construction works are done around the area and full transportation services are resumed ranked accordingly on convenience to take public transport only.

if rank based on driving and public transport it would be Geylang, Bukit Panjang, Bukit Batok, Bedok. Thats what i think :p

How about clementi? I'm also trying to figure out what's the best location and it's not so easy, why do you think Bukit Batok is the best one?

IMHO clementi is like the equivalent of "bedok of the west" and bedok is the counterpart of clementi in the east

and geylang is sort of like queenstown, in terms of distance to the city, not in terms of amenities, schools, malls

btw, anyone caught any wind of when the new queenstown bto is launching? waiting until neck long alrdy.... :(

actually i also thought it sucks, but after going down to the site to see the location itself i find it to be quite good in the future. I consider factors like transport, location, amenities, distance frm city, grc, convenience to expressways, schools.

clementi is too far imo, a good locale if you consider that its near town centre, but i find it way too conjested there and the number of traffic lights to get you to the expressway is really sickening. :s13: thats why i dont like it.

as for why bukit batok is top of my list well, its like a condo ! so near swimming complex means you are just walking distance ! got view of a river/longkang. haha!

MRT and Bus station is near enough to walk to. Town centre is quite good. Imo its like the Tampines of the east. So why not? Sacrifice the distance from city only. Apart from that i find that environment to be quite good.

Another plus factor is that they are premium units. So expect bigger spaces and better housing layouts for it. I expect that location to fetch higher prices.

i'm also wondering why bukit badok was ranked as the top location

It depends as everyone got different requirements and criteria
For me, distance to city is the most important criteria
others might prefer the vibe of the nearby neighbourhood, amenities, schools, the size/price/layout of unit, etc

So what is best for you or me may not be best for others
but it is always good to know the reasons why others choose a place :D

I live in Bukit Batok, personally I'm quite fed up with the frustration of the long journey to work everyday. Given a choice, I will choose a place nearer to city. My choice:
Clementi > Geylang > Bukit Batok > Bedok > Bukit Panjang
Clementi and Geylang are tops due to their proximity to town, Bukit Batok beats Bedok because of the premium flat status and Bukit Panjang is the worse because the LRT system breaks down all the time

I used to stay there before. If you are talking about taking bus service 190 and 960. The bus go via expressway to get to town. e.g. 190 goes to Orchard by Steven Road. 960 goes to Bugis.

Other than that, going other places is very troublesome.

If you do not have any queue number mean you do not get invite for selection and you can try next BTO in May...
You can apply resales flat straight away if you want...
