I dunno but I normally dun take bus stops into considerations cos it seems to me that the authority can take away the bus stops any time they like... but not to MRT.

So I would usually take MRT into consideration. Same thing goes to the Sheng Siong supermart... who knows after 4-5 years the lease is up and they are told to relocate...

ya true also. haha. but sometimes mrt also quite troublesome.

can you see marina bay from either 117 or 115? Actually prices in 109 are cheaper than 117 and 115 - government must have factored in some criteria and thinks 117 & 115 are better, right?

nearer to mrt station also quieter than 109. from what i can see. the hdb knows 109 blk should be much noiser and dustier hence they also factor in this.

Hi guys my first time balloting for flat.

I balloted for the kallang 4 rm BTO and got queue number 1400+. There are only 888 4 room units so I thought I will never get it and failed. The selection date is on Oct 2012.

This evening I got a letter for invitation to select a flat so I am confused. So I want to ask you guys the following questions.

1) Is my balloted queue position of 1400+ with respect to just the available flats for your selection room no. (eg. 888 units for kallang BTO 4 rm) or total number of flats in the whole areas (eg 888 4rm + 327 3rm + 270SA = 1485 units)

2) Can I still participate in the current july BTO and the sep BTO before my selection date in Oct since there might be a chance I am not able to get a flat from this selection exercise??

i suggest you give up this and select ur jul/sep bto. 1400 is for 4 rm only which means unless the selection drop out is more than 50% else chances are very slim. try the july and sept bto. Good luck!

2) No

As to why your queue number is 1400+ and yet received a letter for invitation to select a flat ......ask JoeyWins perhaps he can ask the officer n your behalf

I can help... my selection is on this Sun... If anyone of you have any queries, list them I can ask the officer..

I was in the same scenario as you during march bto. They will send selection letter to ppl who might be able to select. But noted that your q no is 14xx and therefore the chances are slim and if you do get a chance to select, the choices will be limited. Hence I suggest that you also apply for July bto, anyway results will be out way before your selection scheduled in oct.

Also, once the ethnic quota is exhausted, hdb will send you a letter to cancel your appt

yes they send invitation for whoever "might" get chance to select unit but it also come with notice "subject to flat availability and ethnic quota bla bla bla...". so it's just like formality just in case have enough dropout so the flat still available when the selection reach ur queue number.
and since they update flat availability and ethnic quota in real-time, there should be no problem for us to track whether we still have chance to select flat (can easily check latest queue number vs available units to gauge roughly our chance to select flat).
so dont lose hope yet. we never know how many people will drop out. especially if u dont mind undesired units i.e. low level units :D

Sure I can ask and let you know still. But my bet is the answer will be tha same as the others contributors' feedback.

My bro is also in the same position in your case. He went for Mar clementi bto and may kw bto as well. In the end he forgo clementi as he was left with undesired units to choose from. Now I am hoping he get better units in kw.

Then government should also consider west-facing vs east facing mah, and charge a premium on 115? Then again, 117 has a less blocked view than 115 -- there it goes a tie :s13:

seriously, i cannot pick a clear favorite out of these two :s22:
