Well I just got my Surface. Definitely something different, although it sometimes doesn't really have the premium feel that Apple products have. A good step forward for MS though, especially on their first attempt at a tablet.

I love this thing :-D
A sleek win 8 device with super premium feel. Above Apple in my opinion. And the touch cover is just brilliant. Plus flash and office...no need to say more. Especially with all the plastic cr@p out there these days...recently played with the note 10.1...omg how cheap.

No need for 3G for me...I carry my phone all the time...no need for additional sim cost when tethering works just fine...

Really surprised to see the whole OS in the RT version from regedit to device manager...does not feel stripped down at all.

Did you buy accessories such as VGA/HDMI adapter and the power adapter?

Review pls!!! :D
intending to. but super lazy now-a-days :s13:

Surface wont hv 3G rite? so wasted..
nope. based on reasoning that 3G is pretty useless in US since the data plan is super expensive. but i kinda feel its to limit the capability of the Surface so that it won't kill off all the OEMs.

Win RT is actually a full Win8. the only thing is its on ARM processor, which makes all x86 applications useless on it.

have the adapter. but becoz it was not design for FHD, the HDMI out is restricted to 1366x768.

correction. had more time to play around, the HDMI out is indeed FHD @ 1080.

Arrived in SG today, mine tomorrow...only one week delay to release, good service :D
hi doctorweir,

im attempting to get from the US website too. how did u do it via VPost? does it not require a US address to ship to?

pls advise. i have submitted an order using CGW address but i have a feeling (plus some info from others in a post) it will be rejected because my credit card is not the billing address i keyed in.

i posted a while back indicating that i've got 3 surface 32gb w touch cover (black) for sale. I've sold two units already and got one last unit left. i'm looking to sell it for $950 although i'm open for negotiation.

http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/marketplace/view/211939

the unit is immediately available in an original (unopened) box. please pm me if you're interested and we can settle on the price and arrangement on how to deal :)

p.s the surface is awesome. i really love my unit even with it's occasional kinks. i'd like to give more details wrt to some qns on this thread but it's late so i'll probably do it tomorrow

I actually submitted it using the CGW address for both the billing and shipping address, and the order went through just fine.

I had to declare the value of the Surface RT when the package arrived @ CGW. Theoretically :))) if you declare it at US$300, you could avoid GST and save a fair bit e.g. the base model with black touch cover would cost US$599 + US$20 shipping ~= SG$775+ without GST.

Hi ktshing, I did it via vpost. But the Microsoft shop will need a us postal address and the credit card may be checked for the address. I say may, as two of my ccs were rejected, when the third (DBS Visa) finally worked. The others were Master, so maybe Visa does not validate the billing address for that amount...
