Hi,

No, I got the CrossOver one with Pivot stand. Almost about $485 each after all the USD to SGD conversion.

So if you can find a good dual monitor stand for $230 or less ... then it would be cheaper to get the Shimian one, which IIRC about $370 only.

Yup owned by ebay... but the eco system is very different unless payment is done by paypal dont trust anything just because of a brand.

Ebay is trust worthy because of some killer buyer protection policy which at times seems ****ing unfair to sellers

If my paypal has $0 and is linked to a debit card, will it be cheaper to topup paypal then pay for the monitor, or just pay and let paypal deduct from debit card

usually is cheaper if deduct direct from card because use your bank rates which is usually cheaper by a bit then paypal (for most of my cases anyways).

Highly recommend that people not expect a good adjustable Crossover stand.
It's not stable, and difficult to adjust.

So unless you like the exterior built of the crossover, I highly suggest you get another Korean monitor with easy VESA mount access, and buy another stand.

Agree with you on the adjustable stand or pivot stand. The build is not fantastic like the ones from Dell. And if can find better monitor mounting elsewhere ... just get the Achieva Shimian will do.

Cheapest with the same panel.

But I am using the CrossOver with pivot ... and it is serving me well, tho not fantastic.

Basically, whatever you can find online ... or which ever way .. it is at your own risk.

If cannot ... then you just have to find another way.

I have done extensive research into this issue, and the key factor here is that Apple adapter you are referring to costs an exorbitant amount of money... SG$158. Considering that the monitor costs roughly SG$400, you're paying roughly 40% more just to get the functionality that will allow you to connect to a MacBook, and on top of this, the adapter itself requires additional power from a USB port, eating up a valuable port on your Macbook.

My recommendation is that if you are intending to make this work with a MacBook, please get the Crossover 2720MDP Gold edition instead. It will cost just as much as the adapter plus the cheaper monitor, but sidestep all the inconvenience and uncertainty in dealing with an active adapter.

As I've reiterated multiple times in this thread, caveat emptor - let the buyer beware. Know exactly what your desktop or laptop supports in terms of graphical output before getting one of the these Korean monitors. Even your latest fancy graphics card might not have a dual-link DVI output!

Many thanks for sharing your experience on this.

Looks like safest way is to buy a monitor with DP input. Are there any users of this 2720MDP in Singapore and are generally happy with this?

Thx
